2016 Camaro lemon

I recently purchased a 2016 camaro 2SS in March and have had alot of issues with the car. In short, it has a very bad grinding noise in the rear of the car. The dealership has attempted to fix the issue 5 times now, including replacing the entire rear end on a brand new car. This did not fix the issue. They also replaced the exhaust due to a broken valve. Has anyone else been experiencing issues like this? The car has now been in the shop 25 days within the 4 months. We have threatened to hire an attorney and pursue a lemon law but the dealership is not cooperating.

The dealer does not matter, GM takes over in a lemon law, your beef is with them. Good luck, sounds like you qualify. Stay off the forums from now on with moves you make.

Great first post. I'm sure your attorney can give better advice than the forum.

Agreed. The quickest way to ensure that all communication between you and the dealer stops cold is to threaten to hire an attorney. If you've 'threatened' to do so, might as well go ahead and hire one. Good luck to ya.

I owned a new '12 diesel dually that displayed a CEL before I was home from the dealership. It ended up going in multiple times, and over 30 consecutive days the last time with various fixes tried before they finally found the problem. A vendor's banjo fitting was incorrectly machined not allowing fuel to return to the tank. Their compensation was one truck payment and a nice door ding, and nowhere near enough. It was fine thereafter and I didn't bother lemoning it but it left a bad taste in my mouth for years. I didn't even think GM until this car came out.

Lemon laws vary by state but generally require at least 3 repairs on the same part or component within a certain period of time. Your car is less than 4 months old and has had failure of the same component 5 times if I understand you correctly.

Certainly sounds like a lemon qualifier to me.

Lawyer up and go after GM for it.

As soon as I filed a claim on the net, even before I got any paperwork, gm customer engagement reached out to me and they were awsome.
Just call them and see what they are willing to do for you.

I took my car in on 5-31-16 with 1598 miles for the NPP rattle, rear end groan, and paint issues. The car is still there. The time out of service is ridiculous for new car; however, this is the first repair attempt for mine.

Lemon Law if you called GM and they didn't replace it. I have a great lawyer that lemoned my last car quickly.

Why should he stay off the forum? He has every right to vent online. It's done everyday. I don't understand why you would tell him that.

For one reason, he joined just to post this thread and never came back or responded to any comments. Actions such as this are reviewed as trolling.

If the rear end was grinding and the "entire" rear end was replaced, the noise would be gone. I don't believe the OP.

I believe what Glen e met was that he doesn't want to keep spewing about it on forums because it could hurt his chances of winning his case. I don't really agree with that. With the way many people are on this gen6 site about being overly protective or taking a negative about this new car personally, it wouldn't surprise me if he got scared off. He was probably hesitant about posting this in the first place ,or maybe he is just taking Glen e's advice. I love how everyone is a troll that doesn't drop to their knees and pray to the gen6. If we can't talk about problems or negatives with this car, and news flash it has many, then these problems won't go away as quickly and the car won't improve. GM watches the forums. The more an issue is posted the quicker it will get attention where it needs to to get corrected.
