You shouldn't have to put anything down just to order. I'd go somewhere else. I'm with Classic with no charge to order. Great dealers don't charge that crap and they sell at msrp or below. NO MARK UP.

When there are 13 guys with cash down behind you in line with their names on a waiting list and dealers are saying they will get one "MAYBE" two for allocation I certainly didn't mind throwing $1000 down to hold my spot. No markup at all. The $1000 will go directly towards the price/car once it comes in..

These customers that think they will just walk into a dealership and order one are gonna be in for a very rude awakening...

They are production cars, yes, but will be very few and far between... Again by the time they start producing these 17 ZL1's is gonna be a short run then the 18's come out... Again 17's will be "Fifty" so this is the money shot!

I don't disagree. There are only a certain number of dealers in any given area. There are enthusiasts across the country. Not knowing which dealers will receive an initial allocation makes it challenging. As long as my money is refundable it doesn't bother me. There simply isn't a better way to know if you are going to get the car initially or not. Dealers that have no deposit requirement could be legit but they may not get cars right away either. I've already invested over a year talking with the same dealership and that was after visiting several. It seems pointless to start over and go somewhere else now or any point in the future and be like, "Hi, I'm Joe Schmo off the streets. Got any ZL1s I can buy?

Sadly that is right in the middle of the 3rd quarter. Although you may be right I'm praying you're wrong. Humidity levels in August are at an all time high in the Northeast in August. Combine that with the added pressure of waiting for the car and I might kill, thus reducing my chances of owning a car while on death row.

It's kinda easy to know where the initial allocations are going, if they allocate the same way they did with the Gen 5s. Go to a dealer that sells a boat load of Corvettes. The initial Gen 5s were alllocateed to a dealer, one ZL1 for 4 Corvettes sold. That's why the northeast got shafted. But if your in the northeast, and definitely want one, MacMulkin in Nashua NH is a safe bet. Not sure about dealer markup. My dealer will get at least one, and it's already been assigned to me.

The dealer I'm working with appears to have a good number of corvettes. Not sure how to determine who sold a boatload. Will have to Google that one. While I understand the concept I don't see any way to research that.

I see you're from the east coast. North = MacMulkin(NH), mid-Atlantic= Kerbeck (NJ), South = Hendricks (GA) they all have 200-300 Corvetts in stock at any one time.

I just saw ZL1 here in Michigan, I was driving during night time. At the light I noticed a Camaro on the opposite street, this one had a wide body, and the front end was absolutely ZL1. The car seemed larger, but it looks beautiful from the side profile. It also looks more European in person.

So who ever has a silver ZL1 that's cruising around Walnut Lk road, join this forum and let us know what's up!

EDIT: Should've snapped a photo, I was with family and glanced at it but noticed it was something different than your standard SS. It's a pretty loud car too.

Cool must be nice to live in Michigan and see all the test cars running around.

It's refundable only up to the point when you actually order the car. After that, most dealers will only allow you to apply those funds to the purchase of another Chevy.

Man, I'm glad I was the first to put my name on the list last year. For a about 3 months I was the only guy waiting for one. Last I checked in May, it was 6 people and I can only imagine it'll be more now. Yeah, some people are gonna be disappointed that they may have to wait for an '18.
