Yeah so I've read, but to be perfectly honest, i like waxing my car. Its so relaxing and for some reason kinda fun. Sure the others may work a little better and last a whole lot longer but its always something fun for me to look forward to and do.

You are missing the point of new stuff, but if what you are doing works for you, then have at it! But just a tip: waxing 6-12 times a year is not good for your paint.....

See My sig for downloads.....it's not about a single magic product, it's far more about the procedures and the tools you use. |

I haven't read your regiment, but it sounds like it's less time consuming than mine.

Agreed, I can recommend all sorts of things based upon the individual. If you don't want anything to do with detailing at all, just wash your car with whatever you want and a good mitt, 2 bucket , dry and spray on some Meguires QUIK WAX from the auto parts store. Great product. You'll get 75 pct of what all the experts get here without any effort at all.

The basic rule I follow, the more you touch the paint, the more risk for.scratches regardless of product or technique. Thats said the better the lsp with high surface tension, less dirt and debris will stick. My car is coated, for.the most part I could just hose it off and blow dry it. 90% of paint damage is caused during the wash and drying of the paint. The better the products usually the less the risk.
There is a black hole of good products available online. Since you find enjoyment in the process focus on pro grade products vs the typical OTC. For good OTC Meguires gold class works well, you just need quality media/microfibers. There are so many directions you can go with product choice. For that I suggest heading over to the professional forums and looking around at what they are using and reviewing. Even there it easy to spend a fortune because so many things work well and all brands have a stand out product ot two. I trimmed my products down significantly, though I still have some other products to use up. My main stuff now. 1 menzerna fast gloss compound for heavier correction, orbital polisher is needed. http://www.autogeek.net/menzerna-fast-gloss.html 2. Car Pro Essence for medium correction. Also leaves a coating on the car, and serves as a prep for coatings, or a paint sealant. Probably could layer with a wax. Finishes of with great mirror like clarity. Must use an orbital polisher. http://www.autogeek.net/carpro-essence-xtreme-500.html 3. Kamikaze Miyabi coating. Easy to use, long working time fantastic product. http://www.esotericcarcare.com/kamikaze-miyabi-coat/ 4. Car Pro Reload. Another fantastic product. Can be use as a stand alone sealant, topper of Car Pro Essence, or a topper for coatings. I use it as a drying aid, which adds to reducing drying risks, as well as topping the coating at the same time. http://www.autogeek.net/cquartz-reload-spray.html 5. Gyeon Bathe+. Super slick soap, which contains some coating properties, glides across the surface, and boosts. Best soap I have used. http://www.esotericcarcare.com/gyeon-q2-bathe-plus/ Aside from some products for interior and trim that all I need for a better than show room looking car. A good forum to look around at different products, techniques etc. http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/ And a shot of my 21 year old paint on my Z71 truck after a quick polish with Car Pro Essence, before the coating. And a couple of other shots. |
