With the sales number, the Camaro may go under before we get 1LE news.

They say good things come to those who wait. But not for those who wait too late.

Do you know GM's new profit structure per unit they were talking about? Of course not...none of us do.

They could sell much less Camaros then Mustangs and be making just as much if not more then Ford if each sale has more profit in it which is my guess. GM uses that chassis in three cars, Ford one. GM also uses the same basic engines in more cars/trucks then Ford. The average Camaro sale is $4000 higher then a Mustang sale, etc...people (not calling you out) need to understand how profit margins can work in relation to net profit, not just sales numbers...

It was mostly a joke but I highly doubt they are happy being outsold by Challenger.

I'm with you..joke or not; the car isn't selling well. I think the bean counters are trying to do the math to figure out how long Chevy can continue to play this game and remain profitable.

These cars are not BMWs, Porsches, and the like but Chevy has made it appear that their customers are getting the best deal when comparing performance for performance. Sorry but that doesn't fair well for most who are in that market. There are many lower end vehicles that can equal, match, or surpass premium vehicles in performance but they will never have the cache those premium vehicles have. I saw an all white M4 the other day and at no point would I put a Camaro in the same category with it for it's overall value; regardless how many Gs the Camaro pulls. Camaros are entry level performance cars and if GM wants to price/market them as something else they better do a much better job with the overall value and persona of the car. If they do then the Camaro will no longer remain in the blue collar segment. But to think people are going to make that kind of financial choice when they can get into a more luxurious vehicle is foolish.

Change is coming, for better or worse.

M4 is 70 - 90 grand. Camaro SS is mid 30's to 40's. What "more luxurious" performance car can you get at that price?

Also, if the midengine Corvette actually comes into fruition (I'll believe it when I see it), its price segment will likely shift upwards; leaving more room for Camaro pricing.

So let me understand this. A Camaro that matches the M4 in performance at roughly half the price, is not in the same category for overall value?

The cachet argument makes sense for those that need the BMW badge, but I don't get the value argument.

They are both performance cars, but reside in different categories. The M4 is a sport-luxury car. The Camaro is a sport-muscle car.

Anyone that hasn't seen this, it's worth a look.

Well i don't about any of that sales numbers BS..... My son's dealer is selling the dog crap out of any kind of Camaro they can order and get to show up on the lot.....They tried to order 3-more SS's Friday but the LT-1 is constrained in the Camaro, as of Friday anyway, so they ordered 2-more Vetts. LT-1 not constrained in the Vett, go figger.

If they manage a mid engine c8 that doesn't look Austin Powers kinky, that'll be my next car. 1LE probably will be too little, too late.

I'm just hoping we get some new information in July. It seems the ZL1 is getting all the attention.

Way to keep the excitement up Chevy. Hopefully they will start deliveries in the dead of winter.
