LGX planned HP upgrades?

With the increase in bore centers on the new 3.6L LGX compared to the previous 3.6L LFX, it makes me think GM plans upping the horsepower by increasing the displacement to remain competitive in the next few years.

In '10, the (LLT) 3.6L V6 had 304 hp and then it soon changed to 312 hp in '11. In '12, it was pumped up to 323 hp (LFX) when they redesigned the heads and integrated the exhaust manifolds.

So, I'm thinking GM has at least 10-15 hp on the table with the LGX if they decide increase the bore slightly in the next few years. Thoughts?

Sounds reasonable, but I think fuel economy must be taken into account. The V6 is already fairly close to the V8 in MPG numbers, and an increase in bore for more power could push it to lower MPG than the V8, which is not something I think Chevy will do.

Just a quick FYI. The power change from 2010 to 2011 was really non-existent. The original HP numbers were pulled from the rating used in the Cadillac CTS. The Camaro V6 was never certified. Then GM certified the power the engine was making in Camaro form, and it ended up being higher (I'm assuming b/c of the different airbox and exhaust design on the Camaro) and so they gave the 2011 a different HP rating.

The original 3.6 HFE(high feature engine) was said to be able to go to 4.0L.

This is the engine in the 2016 Camaro. Impressive!

Built in Romulus, MI. Very cool, next to this insane engine. Still wish they would drop this one in the camaro.
