Modded M2 vs 1SS A8
Had an opportunity to race a black BMW M2 the other day at the track. I am not super versed in all things BMW so i'm not sure of the mods but I know he had at the very least put a different BOV and exhaust on the car. It was LOUD!
Both leaving at what seemed like the identical time, leaving just slightly higher than idle, I pulled about a quarter car on him in 1st gear and by the time we hit the 1/8th mile, I was about 3/4 a car ahead and slowly gaining ground. I'm running the Eagle F1 Supercar G2's and at 25 psi, I nearly dead hooked. I must say, the car looked pretty sick. I am pleased with the results considering i'm nearly bone stock and his car was about 25K more than mine. All the best, Jared Royce 801.545.4215 |

Nice kill.. the BMW M2 is about 100 lbs less with 370hp/343 torque. Not bad but definitely underpowered vs the SS. It's big big brother M4 is almost even with the SS with a slight advantage to the DTC clutch lol

I wasn't sure what to expect as I haven't followed the BMW's very closely as of late. One of my first real opportunities to run someone with a car that runs real close times to our cars. I've raced 3 Hellcats prior to that night and had only lost once. I ran 13.062 @ 108.95. That was at 4500 ft. I smashed them to be honest. 305's in the rear gave me the jump I needed and they could never recover. The one auto that I ran that was running slicks beat me pretty good though...... |

Just from a quick look, most M2 manuals are putting down in the 340rwhp range. From the way you describe it sounds like he might have had bigger Downpipe or dumped exhaust. That will usually drastically increase the sound of the BOV. Course a tune with CAI will make it much louder too. At sea level you would have put a hurt on him. Altitude was helping him out I bet.
