•Convertibles add $7,000 across the board

I've been heavily considering a new 2SS, but seeing all the problems across the board on the 2016, I will be waiting for at least a 2017.

Coming from an G5 1LE M6 to a G6 A8, the biggest difference is the overall quickness of the A8. For example, off the line it takes some effort to perform that quick 1-2 shift in the M6. Fun, but becomes work after a while if you know what I mean. Whereas in the A8, whether I give it light throttle or a lot of throttle off the line that 1-2 shift is lighting fast and you are at the speed limit in no time. For me 1st gear in the M6 was annoying in day to day traffic, so much so that I would try to start in 2nd most of the time.

I still love to row my own gears but I just need the right environment where I can wind out the gears.

Due to environmental regulations, the whole paint and painting process had changed on ALL manufactured vehicles. I had thin paint on Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Ford, GMC, just to name a few. Seems you can scratch the paint by looking at it.

My opinion would be try to find a 2016 - it will save you around 1k if you can find one optioned the way you like. Otherwise fork the extra grand out and get EXACTLY what you want ordered for you.

Agreed, and you should be able to save more than $1k on a 2016. Usually discounts on a brand new model year vehicles are harder to come by for the first few months until inventory starts to build, while some easy no haggling discounts can be had on the same car built a couple months earlier.

From experience, I would think you can save $2-3k more on a 2016 than you would on a 2017 this summer. Some will argue the birth certificate of the newer 2017 is worth the 2-3k more but that only matters if you are trying to time some future sale of the car in 2-3 years, however condition/mileage will dictate used pricing that case anyway.

Others will argue that the 2017s will be more reliable since they have been building them for a bit now. Personally, I don't think we will know reliability until folks really start putting some miles on these cars anyway, which means you need to get into the 3rd or 4th model year before they even know all the things that go wrong with the car.

Picked this Blue Velvet SS w/2SS yesterday at Hare Chevrolet. 0% financing plus family discount, why not? Hated to leave my 2011 2SSRS behind but I'm really impressed with the speed, quickness, interior comfort and all the mods we did to the fifth gen, they tried to incorporate it into the Six.

Thanks! Doing a full paint correction on it now and the silver is looking better because the blue is getting lighter in appearance so I may not take them off and replace with charcoal gray metallic, we'll see... The blue is really starting to pop and glow. Onto the paint polishing step.......

The strip almost looks white in the picture. Nice ride there Mr Chozn. Right now, the silver strip looks good with the wheels, but I'm sure you may be changing those out to something a little more 'stylin'.
