Stupid Chime During Traffic Alerts

Does anyone else have an issue with the chime that plays DURING traffic alert announcements? Whenever there's an accident ahead or road construction the text-to-speech voice begins to talk to tell me about the incident ahead but right as she starts talking a chime plays (also to alert me of the incident I think), but that chime drowns out the voice talking so I can never hear what road ahead the incident is actually on.

Anyone else with this problem or does anyone know how to disable just the chime so that it doesn't interrupt the voice?

Thanks!

I have had the same issue since day one... one of the most annoying things is that my chime is several times louder than the voice as well. cant figure out how to change it.

Yep same, and even if I use he volume controls on the steering wheel to increase the voice volume, the chime is always louder, making it impossible to hear what she says.

Does anyone have the Nav package and not have this problem? Would at least like to know if it's something I can get fixed or if it's just inherent in all of our 2016s.

Just checking in, I too have this problem. I've had it happen up to 4 times in 15 minutes driving in the city.

Turn chime volume all the way down in settings. I've never had this problem, I shut the chime off day one.

Didn't even know there was a separate volume control for the chime, I'll check this out. Thanks!

Hi everyone,

I have taken some time to read over this thread, and see that a few of you are experiencing a concern with the voice alert system in your Camaros. If anyone would like to visit their dealership for a diagnostic appointment, please don’t hesitate to send us a private message. We would be more than willing to help facilitate that process and provide an additional layer of support on our end.

In your message, please include your full contact information, current mileage, VIN, and preferred dealership if you would like our assistance.

Kindly,

Julie C

Checked settings and the chime was already all the way down... I turned it up a bit then back down, we'll see if that fixes it.

This is how it was originally:

I think the chime in the settings is different from the traffic notification chime. I did set my chime in the settings to zero, but the darn notification chime for traffic still comes on loud and overlapping the announcement. I also checked in the navigation menu with no results. You can just turn off the notification prompts. It's annoying as hell.

GM will probably have to fix this with a software update.

Julie - Before I/we consider a trip to our dealer, it would be nice to know if the "loud traffic alert chime" problem (that all of us are experiencing) can be fixed. Assuming we as customers can't lower the chime volume, Is it fixable with a trip to the dealer?
