Can anyone comment if I got a pretty good deal on my earlier comment of my cost for the 2SS?

I think I was the first built, and mine will reach the dealership last. I know Kaizer has to wait a while to pick his up now, but it will likely still reach his dealership before mine does over here.
You're pretty local to me, and my rail came through the Feather River Canyon down to the Milpitas yard, your's might go the same route.

Interesting, that sounds like it makes way more sense. The dealership I'm using is actually in Santa Rosa, so that's much closer than Riverside is.

Should be any day now...but I'm afraid I won't be free until the 30th to go pick it up. As long as it gets there before then, I'll be happy.

Fine print very specifically says "Some customers will not qualify."

"Customers" is the key here. It doesn't say "Some model years will not qualify" Or "Available for 2016 Models only."

I say we riot. Who's with me?

Agreed, to know a car is there built, and your at the mercy of someone to ship it whenenver they feel necessary is worse than waiting for it to get built.

I truly think I lucked out because my dealer had a 2016 vert ordered that came with my car. I'll never know, but I think that's how I got mine so quickly.

Just an update, and on a more positive note. I love this car more than any other car I've bought. The GTO I traded in was once my dream car that was affordable and this thing makes me say "What GTO?"

I don't know if it's just me but the clutch has a real learning curve. I stalled it three times today at least. It was like I never drove a manual before. The GTO clutch seemed to go in far and didn't grab until almost completely back up. This one doesn't go in very far and seems to grab almost instantly on the way up. I'm sure time will heal my troubles.

I'm considering abandoning my order...

= (

It has nothing to do with the wait time either. I can handle that. I'm just thinking that if I were to go for a 2016 now, I could potentially use my Employee Discount + 0% APR for 72 months + the Private Offer I have...and that just seems to make a lot of sense. I found a car that is pretty damn close to what I got, and it's at the same dealership. I would just need to add the fender hash marks, front lip, and footwell lighting, which I could get really good deals on eBay. This other car is a different color, which I love just as much.

I dunno. I'll have to think about this more. I have until the 30th to decide, I guess. It would worry me to get a 2016. I'm afraid of the NPP rattle, power seat issues...all that jazz.

I'm curious as to what your thoughts are on this.

..Hmmm this would be a tuff call.. Those are great savings. Is the 2016 a recent build? Would the depreciation of the 2016 vs 2017 off set said savings?

I'm right there with you , Greg. This is my third day with mine and I'm still having a bit of trouble learning this clutch. My Miata's clutch was kind of like your GTO's. Went in far and didn't grab until almost completely up. What makes it even more difficult is the dead travel early in the accelerator pedal. I'm not a big fan of that. I know there are ways through the aftermarket to fix that, but I don't want to be messing with the throttle stuff. Anyway...like you said, with time it will become second nature.

I haven't stalled it yet, but I came very close on several occasions on the test drive with the salesman. I told him, "I promise I know how to drive a manual." I've been driving them for 9 years, but this clutch/gas pedal combo is going to take some getting used to.

Not to burst any bubble for ya, but once it gets to Milpitas, takes about 3 days to a week for it to get unloaded then off to the dealer. Then the dealer has to do all thr LPO items, PDI etc which can take a day or two as well. Hopefully it goes faster for you though.

I am unsure what to do at this point. I am 80% thinking I might walk away from my order. I have put nothing down so I have nothing to lose in that case.

My vehicle was built 6/8. It was indicated to be delivered on 6/15. After several days of no response to my phone calls and emails to my dealer, the manager called me. He stated the vehicle is held at the shipping facility but there is no indication as to why it has not shipped. He said they already have some 2017 models on the lot, but mine has not shown up. This doesn't make any sense. He mentioned there may be an extra quality review being done on my car but I do not believe that would last for an extra 10 days.

I have a private offer that is about to expire, and there are some 2016 models nearby that I would strongly consider with the 0% financing offer available. I think if I don't have my vehicle by Monday of next week I will have to go find a 2016 on the lot. I will end up compromising on color, interior, and some options that I really wanted to have. But the savings in the long run could be worth the compromise.

I initially had no problems waiting for the car. The longer it takes to arrive the more money I will have saved for a down payment. However, with the $1,000 private offer and 0% financing offers both being time sensitive, someone's decision to not deliver this vehicle is costing me money. This is very concerning.

Hey GP86 - My car was also built on 6/8 and I was falsely led to believe it was on a truck to be delivered. Eventually I found out that there was an engineering hold on a batch of cars that were being hauled back to a supplier to inspect and repair if needed. Supposedly mine was loaded on a truck yesterday morning heading to the dealer. The dealer claims it should come in today, but they also said they have yet to receive my LPO parts so who knows when I'll actually take delivery. (I also have a private offer so I'm getting nervous as well!) Anyway, if ours were built on the same day hopefully your car will make it on to a truck soon as well. Just thought I'd share....

Does anybody remember that train route map that somebody posted a few days ago? Maybe longer than a few days ago. It showed the routes out of Michigan and Chicago and then the rest of the country. I had it once and now I can't find where it is.
