What are the safest, reversible and effective no-tune mods?

What are the safest, reversible and effective no-tune mods?

I was thinking about a CAI, maybe a ported TB, green cats, pre-cat delete and crimp pipe replacement on NPP. I was thinking I would drive like that for a few thousand miles to make sure the engine is holding together (no factory defects) and then get a Tune. Is that safe for the engine? I heard depending on the CAI, it alone may require a tune because it will lean out the ratios due to increased airflow true?

To see any long term HP, they need a tune.

little to no gain.

I have the front cat delete, IMO you could move the 02 behind the rear cat and not have any issues and need no tune, sheer laziness keeps me from doing this, and I have a HP Tuner. The sound is great and there is a few HP to be found. The mod is great and is the best I've done so far.

no power to be found.

I would also say the MSD intake manifold is a good stand alone mod.

Sadly, you will probably get more out of the tune only then you would the mods. I have been down the bolt-on mods path before with previous cars. My butt-dyno can't tell when you add 20hp to a car that already has 455hp/455tq. The only way to tell is when you are drag racing or on the track and you can compare timeslips. Furthermore, most of these bolt-ons increase power in the upper-rpm ranges, which most wont spend the time doing on the street. If you really want to "feel" a difference then bolt-on a supercharger that will add a 100-200lbs of tire-roasting torque much lower in the powerband. Supporting mods like air-intake and long-tubes are great as well to maximize the gains from a supercharger.

Watch some Youtube videos of the Z06 Corvette and then will give you an indication of what the upcoming ZL1 will be like. Just give it some moderate throttle and you will break the rear end loose, even with gigantic tires. :-)
