Drove a 16 SS stick

Drove a 16 SS stick after quite sometime for quite sometime yesterday at the dealer. What I noticed is no power comes on until throttle halfway down. Seemed sluggish like a bad tune until pedal halfway down. I have driven them before but for only 5 or 10 min. and didnt notice it. This one I drove for about 40min. It was not like you could just tap the throttle and get a snap between gears. Just felt sluggish until you stepped in it. This demo car had 250 miles on. Anyone else notice this?

Yeah my M6 2SS has the same huge dead spot at the top of the pedal travel. Super annoying. You'd think when spending so much time designing a car they would have paid better attention to such an important driver input. Sluggish is a great way to describe it. Makes the car feel lazy.

The LT1 in my old C7 Corvette and the LT1 in the Camaro feel nothing alike in regards to throttle response. I wish they could have just imported the Corvette's throttle mapping into the Camaro and called it a day.

Does not make sense. I know I'm driving the A8 , but half throttle means wheels spin and lots of power...

Are you kidding me? I would be getting speeding tickets by now if that was the case in my car!

Something is def wrong with it and bad gas is usually the culprit. The car had 250 miles on the test drive.. Perhaps it was a dealer transfer and they beat the snot out of it!

Half throttle in mine would mean wheel spin. Are you in touring mode? I've never had an issue with dead spots, but mine is in Sport 100% of the time.

There is a break-in tune on these cars, just FYI.

I keep hearing this from time to time but never any proof to speak of. If this were true the pro tuners out there would already know about it.

This is the first 2SS I have driven. The other SS's I have driven were 1SS's and cant say that I noticed it in the 1 SS. And yeh the 2SS test was annoying. I kept waiting for this thing to go without having to put my foot in it.

Some guys have installed this aftermarket solution if the throttle mapping really bothers you. It has an adjustable setting to dial-in the throttle map.

http://www.vitesse-motorsports.com/t...016+camaro.htm

I don't seem bothered by it on my 2SS. I seem to just get used to how much throttle it travel it takes. If you make it too sensitive then the car will be jumpy and 20% gas pedal travel will result in 100% throttle, etc. Also, keep in mind that Tour/Sport/Track are supposed to have different throttle maps as well.
