How is anyone expected to pass out comfortably in a seat that doesn't recline past a 93 degree angle? Not only do you wake up hung over, but with a sore neck too!

The stop is also a safety device. Prevents the seat back from collapsing back in a collision.
But what do I know. I'm Just another Production supervisor for a seat manufacturing plant of a Top 5 auto manufacturer for the last 18 years. ( 10 years in Quality)

How about all the cars that dont have a stop, what is their safety device to prevent that?

With the new chassis for Camaro (and new seat)they most likely had to add the stop to pass collision testing.
I cannot speak for other manufacturers, but even the seating we make do not all have stops.
Depends on strength of materials, design intent, style of car, etc.
Once the seat back reclines past a certain point it becomes weak in a collision.
Odds are nothing will happen.....
....not for me

I think you are correct on this but, I wonder if there is also another concern of someone having a seat fully reclined in an accident. A person would be able to slide under the seat belt and below the air bag.

Are the 16 motors made in China or something?? Seems like a high failure rate. When I sit in one and adjust the seat they all feel notchy and weak and not smooth in operation. Almost like the motors are straining.

Nahhh!...I think they just got a good deal on some cheap motors. If it were a safety issue in reclining it would be industry wide and govt mandated and no seat would be allowed to recline.

My 2009 Honda Accord power recliner reclines perfectly flat and it has 5 stars all around for safety.

So either GM or your company is either blowing smoke up our kazoos or don't know how to make a seat recline properly AND pass all required safety parameters.

Maybe you should call Honda and ask how they do it

This is why the camaro seats don't reclined.

But my back seats are always empty so my seats has been modified to my comfort!!!

It's a stud (stopper) on left side of driver seat, drilled it out problem solve!!!
For the driver, Is it just one pin on the left side? or do you have to pull the seat out to get the other side as well?
Also... how big of a drill bit you use?
thanks in advance !

This mod will only work in a coupe, even with limited recline the seat back hits the quarter trim in the convertible, imho they only make one seat and coupe owners lose because of the space constraints in the convertible
