From what I understand...and I could be wrong, Kimbo did try to learn MMA techniques and was pretty humble about trying to learn it the right way. Just didn't have the talent to go far up the ranks. He seemed to me to be mostly an entertainer though.

For sure he had really no reason being at the level he was, again, kudos to him for taking advantage of the opportunity. There sure was a lot of butthurt about it, much like Brock Lesnar, from those that had put in "the work" and did not get the same opportunity.

His perceived "persona" vs the actual person are so different. He in fact was a very humble and mild mannered person.

At least Brock Lesnar was a NCAA freestyle heavyweight champion, so he had credentials to put him in MMA. Oh yeah, while doing MMA he defeated two time light heavyweight and two time heavyweight champion, hall of famer, Randy Couture, and former heavyweight champion Frank Mir. He just signed a multimillion dollar contract to return to the UFC. He is legit, Kimbo was not. That's my point.
