I think the main point of the article isn't trashing the 2.0, its making the case for the V6...
The v6 is a <$1500 option and makes 60hp more. To gain that on the aftermarket, you would need at least an exhaust, intake, and tune which even on the cheapest side of the market would be greater than the price difference. Thats not even mentioning the benefits the V6 has such as using regular fuel and making a great noise. The tuner argument doesn't even look like a sound proposition anyways. To make significantly more horsepower than the v6, you're talking several thousand dollars, getting damn near the entry price of the SS. Thats factory warrantied horsepower and reliability. Nobody has made big power in the turbo 4 yet, so this is mostly conjecture. At this time next year, the aftermarket for the 4 and 6 will be more robust and time will tell which is the better option. |

That's why the tuner argument doesn't make sense, to get to SS power from the 4 would require close to the price difference in the two models. And at that point, who would pick the 4 over the SS?

But I completely agree with the sound and fuel costs vs the V6.

As for your sound comment, and it being a benefit for the v6 over the turbo 4, is all personal preference, but I love the sound of a turbo 4 over any NA v6.

I'd take the sound of a turbo 4cyl with a VTA BOV over an NA v6. Unfortunately Trifecta is charging $700 USD for a Camaro tune...The Cobalt LNF tune was like $250, and $100 for the transfer cable. They were the #1 choice during the beginning, until people found out you can gain more power through HP tuners(a lot more $). Then Trifecta slowed down its responses with LNF customers. Takes awhile to get a re-tune.

I disagree. the 2.0 with RS and performance package is 15 grand less than a 2SS. You get the same looks and interior goodies for 15 grand less! Soon they will have performance upgrades to the 2.0 so it can pump out 325 HP on 92 pump gas. Also it has a 50/50 weight distribution.
