Here's a new topic for discussion:

If there was no 6th gen Camaro and they had stopped production on 5th gens, what would be your other car of choice? Mine would be (in this order):

1. Subaru WRX STI
2. Ford Mustang GT
3. Used C7 Corvette
4. Nissan 370z

Have you mapped out your route back home yet? Are you going to avoid the freeways so you can modulate the RPMs? Gonna take in the sights or are you just gonna make a bee line back home?

Been playing with three routes. I'm going freeways on all 3. Pickup date will decide a lot honestly due to scheduling issues at my job. Although my newest route cuts them down some. And I will be making sure to modulate rpm and vary speeds on freeway, not using cruise yet.

How many miles is your route back to TN? My route (shortest) back to NH is 812 miles. I'm taking a week off to pick mine up, road trip it home and spend some time getting acquainted

I can't take that much time off in a row currently. Wish I could. I'm looking at 3 days off to get back. These are the 2 main routes, 3rd route is on paper/atlas at home.

My plan was a used GTR next spring but I couldn't wait. I was set on AWD. I'll most likely trade in the SS in 2020 when the 2nd year C8 goes on sale (AWD option)

Extremely tragic topic! Very happy the 6th Gen exists.

For me, starting from most preferred and going down:

1. Used C7 manual Coupe - Top level trim and aero

2. Used 2SS manual Coupe

3. New Civic manual Coupe - Don't hate. I got to sit in one (automatic) and test drive it. While it's obvious that the performance isn't there, the newest one has ALL the same amazing features of a 2016 2LT (except for HUD) with the addition of better visibility, forward alert, WAY more storage, and...heated back seats?! Oh, and it's half the friggin price of the 2SS I'm getting. I will admit I was tempted by this for the better part of a day. It was the huge amount of space and storage that I really liked in it.

My better half appreciates my love and obsession for the Camaro, but she personally is more interested in cars like the Cruise she's got now. Maybe when it's time for her to upgrade, we'll give this new Civic or Accord a look then.
