When I have done special plates in Michigan it was during the signing of the paperwork and the plates arrive in the mail within a few weeks after taking delivery. Regular plates arrive about a week or two after taking delivery. But that is in Michigan not California.

Yes, I like the red, white and blue. I remember many years ago driving through Houston and saw three guys in a parking lot where each had a VW Beetle in a different color, red, white and blue. They had swapped front and rear fenders around so that each had all three colors, the white one had red front fenders and blue rear fenders, etc. Looked very cool and I admired their creativity.

Today is the day...

During the beginning years of the 5th Gen production, there was an employee that worked at the plant who would stay anonymous, and would take pics of member's cars as they rolled down the line and would post them on Camaro5.

If only we could have someone now that would do that for us...

I thought it would be fun to see what everybody has planned for their first road trip, special event, etc, in their new Camaro when it ships. For the sake of variety, lets not count the ride back from the dealership for those of you traveling a long ways to get yours. This could be a full-on road trip you have planned, or a local car show you are going to take it to, or maybe just a weekend trip or something.

For me, I plan to take mine to the Tail of the Dragon in Eastern Tennessee/Western North Carolina. It's more or less in my back yard, but this road is an absolute dream to drive if you like curvy roads. The traffic sucks at times since it's so popular, but if you can hit it on a good day it's great.

Here are a few links for anyone not familiar with the road. So, what's everyone else's plans?

That sounds like a great trip. My Camaro club doing that this weekend.

As for me, since the drive back to Memphis doesn't count, I'm not sure yet. It all depends on when I get it. Thinking about going to LS Fest in Bowling Green, KY.
