A8 Issue

Was backing out came to a complete stop and put the car in drive. Hit the gas the engine revd and did not move until I hit the gas again. Today while backing out the car hesitated and then jerked when in reverse and hesitated when put in drive.

I also notice that in the first couple of gears my car kind of hesitates when switching between the first few gears.

Anyone else notice any of my issues with your car?

When you put it in drive did you feel it engage in gear? Was is in gear but slipping?

I may notice a slight difference when the tranny is cold vs. when it warms up. How many miles on it?

Just out of curiosity... Were you on an incline of any kind? Mine has done this before when it goes in to Hill Assist Mode and if you're not looking at the DIC, it's easy to miss..

A couple of miles over 5K. The gears feel engaged. It's happened when cold and when hot.

Ask your dealer if there are any updates to the trans software, they update that all the time as they find problems.

I had similar issues, 1st to 2nd would shift real hard, acted crazy. Never felt right from the day of delivery. Dealer reprogrammed ECM and TCM, night and day difference once it was done. Bad batch of TCMs as well were going around that had to be replaced.

Wasn't on an incline but thanks for the info. I'll give the dealer a call and ask about reprogramming. Thanks!

Hi buck_dawg_gold,

I apologize for this inconvenience with your Camaro and can understand how this may be frustrating. I see you planned to contact your dealer to address this concern. Were you able to speak with them? If you would like an additional layer of support, I would be happy to reach out to them to facilitate a service appointment.

Please feel free to send a private message if you’re interested.

Best,
Lauren E
