Isn't the CTSV 585hp or something like that?

Well, that one has just about every option on it. I just don't understand why the black wheels go from cost $200 in low gloss black but when you make them high gloss black with a red stripe they go to $2000? Anyway, I would think in the 48-49k range. As for the Mosaic Black paint you just need to look at it under good lighting. You need to look in the door jambs, trunk, hood, etc. you are just looking for complete and even coverage.

The $200 wheel option is in place of the standard wheel package and this is installed at the factory during the build. The $2000 wheel/tire option is installed at the dealership and you get to keep the factory wheels/tires hence the price, 2 sets of wheels and tires for you.

Ah, ok. I guess that is good if you needed a 2nd set of wheels and tires for winter driving or track use...

On that particular build he linked that wheels/tires package plus the 6 piston Brembos add over $5k to the price. I know we don't know the price of the 1LE yet but if we estimate $5k, that we be a far better deal since it includes the brakes, wheels, tires and so much more.

Sigh......Threads like these is how information gets spread that is incorrect. Then the site gets accused for fan boy responses. I can easily go out and grab 16 Cameros doing horrid at our track. I have seen several run high 12's, and low trap speeds. Does this mean the 16 are slow. NO. It means it needs a driver mod. The same for the GT350 in the vid.

The car is a high 11 on tire, and easily a low 12 car. Yes it will run about what a 16 should run. But let us remember,

A: Like the z/28 (which was horrid at the 1/4) the GT350 IS NOT a 1/4 car. Its a track car.

B: The tech pack is not meant, (and it says it in the brochure) for heavy track duty. People who buy the tech pack, and decide that they can do some hard laps and now wonder why the car overheated are well....misinformed. The Book says if you have a TECH PACK car you will need extra coolers. You have not heard of any TRACK PACK cars overheating.

C: There are no comparisons of a SS vs a track pack GT350 on a road course. The only comparo and times was a Z/28 vs TP vs R.

The long and short of it all is that the 16 Camaro was built on a great platform and can perform well with different duties. It will do well of course in the 1/4. The SS on the track ? Not sure until someone actually gets out there and does it. This is why a 1LE will be built. Now how will it do against a GT350 TP will be interesting. But to say the Camaro SS is faster and better than a GT350 because of a 1/4 vid of a guy driving who can not drive is simply ridiculous.

I agree with your other points, but the part highlighted above is not entirely accurate. Keep in mind I am looking to purchase a Shelby, so I am not doing this from the traditional "Chevy vs Ford" mindset.

At least one car on M6G has gone into limp mode during road driving. Not a road course, just spirited driving. There has also been at least 1-2 TRACK cars with other related failures, albeit on a track. You can look them up if you like. I'm on my iPad and it's a bitch to copy/paste and not have one tab suddenly crash on me. Sorry.

And for the Chevy gloaters... keep in mind that at least Ford appears to have 2 options. 1) the aforementioned track pack (now standard for 2017, with commensurate price increase), and 2) Ford is reportedly working on an aftermarket fix for the 2016 base/tech cars. The C7 Z06 has been out over a year longer and Chevy has done nothing to fix its glaring track overheating problems.

No one is immune to this sort of thing. Glass houses and all that, folks.

I never said the SS will beat it on the 1/4.. I just said it I think it has more midrange torque and grunt than the GT350.

Going of manufacturer claims..

GT350 - 526 HP, 429 Torq, weight 38,XXX lbs
1SS - 455 HP, 455 Torq, weight, 36.XXX lbs

Looking at those numbers, they are pretty even with the weight to power ratio with a slight edge to the SS since it's lighter with more torque. Plenty of M6 SS doing low to mid 12's. Give the SS a tire too, I'm sure a good driver can do 12 flat or maybe a high 11.

Also, few magazine have been getting around mid 12 on the quarter so not sure where you got the high 11 or low 12's from. Yes, it's a "track car" so let's not base it off 1/4 numbers. The SS also did very well on the track (Did exceptionally well against the M4).

I love both cars so I'm not biased. I'm just calling from videos, test runs, claims since I never drove a GT350.

I know one thing though, it'll take a GT350 42 secs to 170mph while it'll take an SS 44 secs. Done by Hennessy.. So the top end of the 350 is badass for sure.

Not sure how you get the SS having a better power to weight than the GT350. 3800/526 is 7.22 lbs/hp. 3685/455 is 8.49 lbs/hp.

I was guesstimating factoring torque in as well.. also the 1SS is ~170- 200 lighter with their respectable curb weights.

Car A has 71 more HP
Car B has 26 more torque but weighs 170-200 lbs less.

Pretty equal to me overall.. but, more midrange grunt for SS and more top end for 350.

1SS doesn't weigh 170-180 pounds less than a GT350.. 1SS is listed at 3,685 and 350 at 3,760.. Track pack version listed at 3,791.

That's the 2nd time you corrected me lol haha

Heck, I don't even know the weight of my own car! Regardless, I love the power of the SS and it's actually too much power for the streets. Torque for dayyyss!!!

Would love to test drive a GT350 someday..

The SS is faster straight line under 150. 99.999% of people don't even make it past 140. The SS is the best bang for the buck car out there right now no contest. 37k I paid for a 1SS and I'm beating Shelby gt350s and 5.0s with tune e85, exhaust and intake, while I'm STOCK.

Track cannot be compared because no one has put them against each other.

You serious? Plenty of runs with modded GT's and majority of the time the SS still wins. But against a GT350, I would say even? Forget even, let's use the term a "Drivers race" lol.

I love Mustangs, came from a Mustang family. I had a S197 GT for a month.. Felt strong to redline.. test drove plenty of S550's and felt the same. Descent power to redline.. Test drove a 16 1SS manual, holy sh*t! Bought it the first day I test drove it. LT1 @ 36,XXX lbs don't mess around.

Okay, I need to test drive a GT350! I have a family friend who's a fleet manager at Ford.. wonder if he'll let me drive it lol
