So I want SS Camaro 2016 or 2017???

I am new to this forum. Coming over from the Corvette Forum for many years. Need help on understanding Camaros. It is almost June 2016. Want to get a SS 2ss Camaro Hyper Blue manual. Is there much difference between the 2016 and the 2017.

Even though horsepower seems to be the same the manual seems to be quicker 4.0 seconds vs 4.3 in the 2017 than the 2016.

Of course price is always a big consideration. (Been looking at the Private Offers which will help) Need to figure out how much to pay. Not in a big hurry but it is important to get one I really like and at a good price. I like the 1LE but that is going to add approximately $5K.
Which should I get?
Thanks

Auto is 4.0 seconds to 60mph. Manual is 4.3 seconds to 60mph. The 1le is available only on the V6 and V8. Another thing is that the 1le is only available with the manual transmission.

The 1LE is going to add $5? What does that mean?

The 2017 is going up $600 and the Hyperblue color you want will be a $395 option.

To clarify, the 1LE is apparently only available in 1SS trim if you get the V8. Which may or may not sway your decision. There will also be a 50th anniversary edition coming in the 2017 model year. http://www.chevrolet.com/camaro-50th...y-edition.html

I thought I read in the 2017 guide that both the auto and manual did 4.0 zero to 60, could have read it wrong. Still want a manual, my Vette is an auto.

Manual is 4.0 to 60 as well. Motor Trend tested two different cars and got that, Car and Driver did as well. Seems GM just updated some 2017 literature to say 4.0 for both...

Just FYI, there's a handful of manuals that did 3.9 secs. Search the 0-60 threads, they took pictures of it as well.

You can't go buy the thing on the dash though. It's not super accurate and wheelspin throws it off. Either way, a well driven manual seems to be within one tenth to a draw with an auto...

Good catch. I did not see that about the 1ss for the 1LE option. The only thing I really want from that option is the 305/30R20 rear summer tires/wheels. Will probably have to go aftermarket to get that look.

Will want the Magnetic ride suspension, extra cooling package for sure. I'm not a road racer but will occasionally go to the drag strip so I want it to hook up.

Good to know, I thought the dash counter is just as accurate!

What rear end differential comes in the 2ss manual versus auto?

Ok. Have they announced pricing yet for the 1LE? $5k is probably a good guess but there is quite a bit of stuff being added to that could cause it to be even more. The last 1LE package was $3500 and it was a steal for what you got.

E-diff - cost $$$??
Performance Data Recorder - cost ?? Optional?
MRC - $1695
NPP - $895
6 piston front calipers - $3175
Suspension upgrades
Wheel and tires package - maybe a wash since the run flats actually cost more than the Goodyear F1 Supercar tires.
Hood wrap, suede bits, etc.
