what's your opinion about Chevy dealer repairing my tire?

I brought my car for service and a flat tire so when it was all done I went to pick it up and didn't notice that the lead on my tires had been placed the wrong way and it was not the proper size of lead to fit in my camaro 2016. Also they scratched my inside rim trying to remove the old lead.

Do you think I should go back to the dealer to get this problem fix or should I just let it be?

That's why the only people who touch my wheels and tires are a local Discount Tire store I've been using for over a decade.

Take it back and voice your displeasure and insist they make it right.

I only understand about half of this. Definitely go back to the dealer and say WTF about the scratches.

I just don't understand the concern about the weights themselves. It looks as though they balanced your tires/wheels and that's where you ended up at.

Makes me sick to my stomach. And gm wants to come out with carbon fiber wheels. Maybe they should spend some engineering money to train their service techs.

The problem is you NEVER stack weights like that, they can and will fly off and the machine is calibrated for a weight strip, not weights stacked on each other. Another flaw is seeing 2 sets of weights apart from each other on the same side of the rim. The guy who did this probably thought he was doing good, putting the weight on the spot the machine said but since there were already weights there the proper thing would be to remove all of them and spin it again.

Those are definitely aftermarket, GM uses a continuous weight take that a machine cuts to length based on the reading it gets when it spins the wheel / tire combo.

Overall, shoddy work and they would be replacing my wheel.

fyi gm doesn't balance or mount any tire. It's all contracted to outside shops. Tires get mounted to wheels and sequenced to match production schedule by contracted company.

Understood, I only mentioned it because someone was questioning the weights. When I say "GM" that includes any and all sub contractors.
