Is this another "spun a rod bearing at 600 miles" waiting to happen to the owner of the car the OP test drove?

My 12 SS never saw a speed over 85MPH, and my 15 110 (at the drag strip). My 16 has gone 116 at the drag strip, but never over 80ish on the open interstate. I have no idea why anyone would feel the need to drive 120 on public roads and completely beat on a dealership's new car that isn't even broke in properly.

He really let me dig in on the highway and around turns going through every mode as long as I wanted ! I ended up hitting up to 120mph numerous times on the highway after he saw my skill with a manual he said he was actually just really enjoying the drive! This really allowed me to see the things I love about the 2SS and what seemed to be missing. Im getting closer to the purchase when the 1LE comes out but still may fall for the 2SS now as my wife and I don't love suede.

things I noticed .... Power is just exceptionally perfect like a true prize fighter , did feel the 1Le suspension and 6 piston brakes would make a improvement in turns and bite. Felt a bit of a weaker link in that aspect compared to the power within the car. I also wonder do the coolers come standard as what would be on the 1le? i have to say i think the 6 piston brakes would def make a huge difference? not sure how the suspension on the 1Le would add to handling ? I also kind of can't imagine that car with the 640HP ZL1 you definitely have to have respect and skill to take that to the limit .
What was the salespersons name? I have 3 friends who work there

True, but some cars still have great pedal feel even without burnished brakes. I think its possible to find the right combo to get that pedal feel that so many of us want.

Personally if I could ever get close to the way my brothers 2008 MX-5 brake pedal felt on initial bite. I would be over the moon. That car only had single piston floating calipers not huge brembos.

I will be bleeding the brakes and experimenting with pads to see if I can improve pedal feel if the 1LE suffers from the same softer pedal feel.

Going 120 in a straight line tells you nothing about the dynamics of the car.

My opinion is brake pad compound isn't up to par. I feel like the compound isn't suited to the capability of the calipers. As far as the 6 pistons on the 1LE go, we won't know until late this year. However I can say the 6 piston upgrade cars also suffer a less than exceptional initial bite. I drove a 6 piston upgrade car and could still feel the lack of bite, but the stopping power was still there.

If you do some research on the track reviews some of the guys are starting to post now you will see the pads don't seem to handle the abuse as well as you would hope. Good news is that's an easy and relatively inexpensive fix.
We won the speed stop challenge at the USCA event in Thunderhill with stock brakes. Not the 6 piston upgrade either. These brakes are EXCELLENT!!

All the best,

Jared Royce

Stock setup does seem to stop well even though the initial bite comment seems to be a common one.

Do you notice any lack of initial bite or pedal feel?

Well first of all to those that are so completely mad that I drove the car a bit. I was never told xyz do or don't do the car was a return for a corvette and already had its break in period don't get your Geriatric diapers in a bunch. I followed his lead until he said I'm really impressed with your driving skill feel free to go for more not many that come in can handle a manual like you I'm really enjoying the ride. How can you honestly blame me?

Before I buy anything I really like to get into it and know its limitations I don't care if its a guitar, or car... i take my time and weight and measure all options

Im not ratting anyone out... After that drive I may end up with the SHELBY GT 350 so I'm glad I did I didn't blast through at 120 the whole time it was time passes , turns and freeway.

I grew Up in Los Angeles and can handle all freeways for many years I'm not 22 I'm 38 never had one accident or even ticket in Los Angeles.

I'm not for granny driving, but 120 is a little steep for having passengers. Killing people in a high speed crash in a car that you don't have much seat time is fine but probably should be done solo. Just because the salesman was dumb enough to not tell you to not double the speed limit doesn't mean is was a good idea. They are not called purposes, they're call accidents, they weren't supposed to happen.

Surprised I'm the first to post this. I call .

No salesperson in their right mind is going to let someone drive a car at 120mph

If that really happened
