I couldn't figure out what car you were talking about until I realized it is not available in Canada. From what I saw on the US website, it looks like a really good 4 door offering, lots of room and comfort and sporty as well.
Some tweaks and it could be a winner just like the 6gen Camaro.

Well if you bought a 09 G8 GXP brand new in 2009 and kept the mileage low (below 10k miles) you could sell it for what you paid for it back then! Crazy good resale value. Dunno if the same will hold true for the 14/15/16 SS sedans......

Agreed about the bland styling. Heck, I think the new Malibu is better looking. They should have put the style of the Impala with the SS engineering.

It's actually second generation Zeta. This car has had a minor refresh since the G8 as a Holden and full on all new which the SS is.

I cross shopped and bought the SS Sedan after being tired of waiting for the 1LE info. I am in love with this car and happy I bought it. I like the understated styling and will be doing the Holden exterior conversion shortly. All of the parts and badges are sitting in my garage right now. It's plenty fast enough for me and I plan on getting the 2018 1LE in January 2018 now when my wife's lease is up. Anyone who says it doesn't do anything great has never spent any time in one. It pulls .97g on the skidpad which is better than 99% of the cars on the road and will run 12.9@111mph. Plus it brakes awesome with the 4 piston Brembos at all 4 corners. All this in a family sedan.
Just don't go into the dealership planing on leasing one as they don't offer a lease on it. Last edited by Eric SS; 05-23-2016 at 08:57 PM. |

^What Eric said^
I don't know if any of you are subscribed to Motor Trend on Demand, but they did a really great review on the 2016 SS. Anybody who thinks the car is "a turd" should check that video out. Like I said, it's not for everybody. But it's a great car. Maybe not the fastest car in the world, but it's a great car. And like Eric, when my lease is up, I'll be looking at the Camaro again and the SS will assume daily driver duties. |

Actually, here is that video I spoke about. They just put it on youtube. OP, check this out, it should give you more of an idea.

I love the SS but since they gave it EVERYTHING standard I was put off. I wish you could have built what features you wanted like any other car. It was just too pricey- too close to a loaded out 2SS, which is what I ultimately chose instead.
And the Holden versions look so much hotter. If I had been buying new cars when the G8 came out I almost assuredly would have bought one. Heck I'd have bought one last year if they hadn't held their values so well and had a slightly more upscale interior or came in manual (GXPs are impossible to find). Al O (or someone else at Chevy/GM) hinted at a successor to the SS but I've not heard any other rumblings of anything else from that camp on it being Alpha-based. The car world is rapidly moving away from sports sedans to a world of crossovers/suvs/trucks and sporty coupes only. |

Is anyone else amazed that the SS sedan (LS3/M6) is only around 50 lb heavier than a 2015 Camaro 2SS (LS3/M6). That's surprising to me considering the physical size of the SS. The front and rear legroom looks huge.

Count me in, like Eric, as waiting to long for the 1LE.
I pick up my '16 Red Hot 2 6MT Chevy SS tomorrow. There are deals to be had if you look. I like the exclusivity of it compared to the Camaro - which there are thousands upon thousands being made. The SS? A couple thousand coming here, if that? This 2nd gen Zeta is so far more refined than the 1st gen. Quote:

I'm not discounting the Camaro. I have something fun for now that can also assume daily driver duties later on once my lease is up. When the lease is up, I'll be looking for a Camaro. Assuming nothing crazy and unexpected happens in my life. |
