Angry V6 1LT power seat stop working!

I got my car in February and yesterday the reclining of the driver seat just stop working. It can still hear the electric motor but it will just stop after running for like 1 second. It's like this for no reason. I'm wondering is there anybody else has the same problem and is there any “folk remedy" that I can use before I send my car to the dealership.

This is not an uncommon problem. Sometimes it can be fixed by pushing back or maybe pushing forward on the seat back while operating the recline button. If that doesn't get it to start working again, your dealer will need to fix it. Mine had to have the seat back on the passenger side replaced right after I bought the car I February. There is more information here someplace. A search should find it.

Happened to me at a Camaro show my dealer sponsored - they put it in the shop immediately, and fixed it by "actuating the motor while applying tension" - ie pushed the seat forward while playing with the button. I was told it's common in the first of these cars, as a manufacturing defect left a misshapen gear tooth. If it happens again, it will be replaced.

Haha mine started working again after a larger gentleman sat in my passenger seat for an autocross run. I think the additional G forces and weight helped it get past that burr in the gear.
