Glitches with my clutch
My 2016 camaro ss has an issue with a high clutch I am wondering if this is normal for all ss. I brought it to my dealer to diagnosed this issue and they ruled out any problems with the clutch and that they cant regulate the clutch because its hydraulic.
Can anyone tell me if this is normal for an ss or not? |

Give it time to wear in. The pedal will come down a little bit when that happens.
It's normal. Put some more miles on it and run it through the gears. |

Honestly I do not see a problem with the clutch disengaging higher in the pedal travel. It is is when you are almost at the floor board and it disengages would be an issue for me.
I have to say the clutch in my car seems to have moved the engagement just a little down and I have about 4300 miles now. |

All the Tremec manual transmissions I have owned have clutches with a high engagement point, I have had 2 corvettes and now a 2013 Camaro SS 1LE. I personally don't like it but I have just gotten used to it. The engagement happens at a very specific point, which is why some folks don't like it. You have what feels like an inch of travel between engagement and disengagement of the clutch, which is why it can be harder to drive smoothly. You have to provide the right amount of "finesse" through that engagement point and the smoothness will vary based on RPM, etc.
Most of the Japanese cars I have driven have a larger range of clutch engagement and start to bite around 1/2 way instead of 3/4, which I find a little smoother to drive. Either way, you just get used to it over time. |

Hydraulic clutches are not adjustable that way. If it doesn't slip its normal.
I personally hated the clutch in mine and I worked out a deal with CenterForce to develop a new twin for the 6th Gen. Love my new clutch and its starts to grab a lot lower than the stock clutch.
