Tachometer issue

Unfortunately, my first post on here is about an issue with my car. A few days ago, when I fired up my car, the gauge clusters did the initial full sweep, however, my tachometer did not lift back off of a zero reading. I shut it off and restarted the car three times and it did the same thing. Finally, I shut down the car and let it sit for an hour. After that, everything seemed to work just fine.

Its a 1lt/rs with the base gauge clusters. Has anyone run into this? And if so, what did you do about it. Thanks for your help!

Had the same issue occur last week. Basically same as you, let it sit then it started working again. Was gonna take it in but the issue hasn't resurfaced. Will probably just mention something next oil change, seems like a computer glitch since it did the full sweep before resting on 0.

Hello Tburg87,

I’m sorry to hear about this concern with the tachometer in your Camaro, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Have you made your dealership aware of this concern? I understand you are seeking advice from other forum users, however, I would be more than happy to reach out to the dealership to facilitate a service appointment so they can take a look at your tachometer. If this is of interest, please send a private message with your VIN, mileage, full contact information and preferred dealer. I look forward to your reply.

Best,
Lauren E

I have not had this happen to me. I have had the software updates though. You might check with your dealer to see if you have the latest software versions.
