Anybody remove seats yet
Has anybody tried to remove seats yet. I have a 1ss and found a steal on 2ss kalahari takeoffs but am concerned on the removal as the base on the front seats are secured differently than the gen 5.

There should be only 2 bolts on the rear of the seat slider assembly holding it to the floor. Remove those, and disconnect the harness. Then remove the front seat by tilting the seat forward and lifting, then pull the seat rearward to disengage the front hooks.
Looks to be one of the easiest procedures i've seen on a seat.

I want Sparco seats but not sure how to put a resistor to trick the computer. Also, make sure the brackets, etc. fit. Two different chassis from Zeta to Alpha platform. |

It's not hard to do, just cumbersome because of the tight quarters. Two torx bolts for the seat and 1 for the seat belt bracket and then the harness clips. You will get an airbag light and be careful not to scratch the sills trying to remove them.

Thanks for insight guys.
As far as the airbag light, once reconnected will it resync with the new seat or will it need to be reprogrammed? |

No need for programming. The system will detect the air bags. No CEL.

I'm fairly confident that plugging a 5th Gen seat into a 6th Gen harness wouldn't just be plug and play....I'm not certain, but the car was programmed with different stuff.
Thats my theory, anyway. Good luck. Keep us posted! All the best, Jared Royce 801.545.4215 |

On the Sparco question, in the old days a simple resistor would defeat the airbag warning and make the car think the bags were still there. Unfortunately, Newer cars with pressure sensors in the Passenger seat make things a bit more complicated. Without figuring that out, your passenger front airbag is not active...
A simple remove/replace should not be a problem. Just DO NOT turn the car on when the harness is unplugged ![]() My old TT was easy due to no pressure sensor: ![]() I never did get the 370Z worked out:
