To RS Package or not to RS Package?
To me, the RS package definitely looks nice. I wish it was a bit cheaper, but it looks very sleek. The only thing I don't like are the chrome slivers on the grill, but I've read that those can be removed. The headlights are definitely the highlight of the package.
What made or didn't make you get the RS package? I'm curious to hear some discussion from those who didn't get the package. Throwing out a hypothetical, would you get the V6 or the RS package? The condition is you can only pick one, and you have to rationalize the decision. I definitely now have a desire for the V6 after I watched some YouTube videos. Having NPP would be awesome as well—the sound is too beautiful. Looking at fuel ratings, the V6 does pay itself back while the turbo 4 sips premium. Any quality discussion would be appreciated! |

I chose not to get the RS on my 2016 because I wanted the blade spoiler (added by dealer) with Rally Stripes and the black wheels. The difference in the brightness of the headlights is definitely something to consider if you drive at night. My 2014 with the RS package had excellent headlights that were very bright. I have candles that are brighter than the headlights on my 2016.
I chose the V6 with the NPP and I love it. Gas mileage is better than my 2014 Camaro 2LT RS was and it sounds good in sport mode. If I had to pick a V6 or RS, I would choose the V6 (with the NPP). |

I know you asked to choose but why can't you have both? I made a list of what was important to me this time around (I traded my '15 1LT in as I regretted not getting the RS pkg for the Halos at that time) so it was having all the bells and whistles in my V6. I am all about No Regrets this time around...as for the grill, I had the chrome pieces vinyl wrapped in red to match my bow tie and hash marks.

In my opinion the car was designed around the RS package. The headlights are seriously night in day in design for the cars aesthetic. The chrome lining however is really up to personal preference.
Lets compare the headlights. RS: ![]() non-RS ![]() During the night when you're driving toward someone with the RS lights the car is unlike anything else on the road and it looks really good. In my opinion If it was between the turbo4 rs or v6 non RS I would pick the turbo. To me the car is not completely about the engine. |

I ordered a V6 with NPP and the RS pkg. I'm still waiting for it to show up (only days away).
I knew I wanted the RS as I feel it just makes the car "pop". I for one (and this could be rare) love the look of the chrome accents. The SS looks amazing without them but it has its own front grille that gives a real attitude. Ive seen a base car in person and let's just say I felt it looked like it was "cheaper" looking. Certainly not knocking anyone's choice here though. For me...I wanted the RS because of everything it includes, especially the HID's, Spoiler and 20" rims. |

I wasn't a fan of the RS on the 5th gen, but seeing it on the 6th gen, I'd probably go for the smaller engine and the RS package!
Or you could just upgrade to the SS and get it automatically!

RS.
Non RS looks incomplete on this gen. On last gen it looked pretty good, specially since it shared the styling of the z28, but on the new gen, the nonRS headlights alone look wierd
