When a shipper takes a contract to ship the understanding is the shipper has total control once the build has been turned over to them. GM does not ship builds, I believe by law but that is a belief based on observation not on actual knowledge of the law.
GM has given control to the third party and usually that makes no difference because say 95% of car builds are for dealer stock. The dealer only cares about getting product to sell and the process is not set up otherwise. I believe it could be different: SRE orders could be given shipping priority AND I have been told they are but observation by me does not support what I have been told. Laborsmith |
