Bored as shit at work, figured I'd give a small story per each one. All of them were memories.

Ah man... My first car. Mint condition 1988 baby blue corola. This car was purchased before I was even allowed to drive (had my license, just wasn't allowed lol). 16... And I was an ungrateful shit about it, because... 1988 corola. Kinda wish I still had it, it was hardly used. I owe my pops a car for not beating me senseless over how silly I was. He should have.

2002 Mustang V6 (started the mod bug and birthed the mustang fanboyism)... This Auto stang was my mom's second mustang, had hardly any miles on it because she hardly drove it. I saved up every cent I could get my hands on, and put a dual flowmaster exhaust setup on this poor thing. One year into owning it, I procharged it. Stock tires, Stock wheels. Open diff lmao. I was 17, not a very smart kid. Just wanted to beat those damn GTs. This car endured a stupid amount of beating. It was still kicking, salvaged, it had seen some SHIT.

2008 Mustang GT - First "quick" car. I leased this thing with intention to buy since I couldn't get financed for a buy. Went 67mm Comp turbo, put down 480/510 at dyno... More when I cranked the boooooooost. Turbo kit was a fkin NIGHTMARE from hell thanks to me being a stupid kid (still) and putting my trust in a ****ing dirtbag thief lying sack I met on the forums... Ate a state ref ticket in Glendale CA, had to sell the car. Good times.
1992 300ZXTT... Was amazing for the 2 weeks it ran, then in and out of the shop for months until I cut my losses and sold.
1998 Honda Prelude (totaled in a rear end accident stopped at a red light, because the SUV behind me tapped me. The adjuster was an idiot, but whatever)
1993 BMW 318 (was planning on doing the 5.0 motor swap, sold it before that happened) Picked this car up from my buddy. He had put amazing suspension and a full m3 appearance kit on it... Lol don't ask why. Oh yeh and STUPID LOUD exhaust. On a 318. -_-

2014 Infiniti Q60 (pretty much a g37 with a new badge) landed a huge jump in pay and was tired of driving used shit to save cash for the "next project" lol hint hint. Leased this thing just to enjoy some comfortable driving for a bit. for 350 a month and 2k down, it was a no brainer.

and Finally; 2016 Camaro 1SS. The next project.

46;
'80 Chevy Citation
'77 Pontiac Grand Prix (First car I modded)
'84 Honda Civic (Least reliable vehicle I ever owned)
'88 Toyota Corolla
'92 Mazda Protege
'91 Honda Civic
'94 Jeep Wrangler (Seriously Modded)
'01 Mustang (Mildly modded)
'05 Saab 93 (First new car)
'11 Hyundai Genesis Coupe GT (3.8 mildly modded)
'15 Camaro SS (1LE Suspension, sub frame bushings, Z/28 CAI, Ported TB Tuned, and much more planned)

So, eleven cars in 30 years, not bad, but it looks like I've got some catching up to do.

The Honda, Toyota, Mazda, Honda series are all things I purchased when in the Army or in college, when cheap reliable transportation was the goal. While each was a soundly logical decision, good Lord if I had it to do over again...

The Toyota was a great car, put 140k miles on it, and the only thing that ever broke was a leaky brake reservoir. $40.00 fix. The Hondas I hated. The Mazda was hit three months into owning it. I liked it for those three months.

Every other one of those cars I loved to one degree or another. The Citation was my first car. How could I not love it? The Grand Prix, if I could find that exact one today, would be lovingly restored, more from the memories created in it than any other reason. The Jeep was awesome in all the ways that Wranglers are.

The Saab and the Mustang were ok. They were the right cars at the time. I would probably still have the Saab if a girlfriend hadn't killed it. It was simply too typically a Saab to ever have disposed of. It worked. It was quirky. It had character. For a daily it was hard to say no to.

I don't think I've ever loved a car the way I do my Camaro though. The Pontiac was close. In a straight line it was quick, high 13's in the late 80's, and for the car I drove through the majority of high school, I could have done far worse. I spun three bearings in it within a month of owning it, and the engine rebuild was what really set me off. It was fun in it's own right, and the opportunity to improve it as I was doing so just made it more so.

The Camaro is sort of the same deal. It's a heck of a place to start making the car I really want out of it, enough so, that in addition to the rest of the modifications, I'm already planning on how to compliment it when it's no longer my daily, and purely a toy.

  2. 1978 Ford Grenada
  3. 1985 Ford Tempo (I used to say that "Tempo" was actually short for "temporary" since the damn thing kept breaking down on me, lol!)

50 years of cars? That's crazy. You must keep a master list somewhere, I have a hard time remembering 15 yrs and I had a slow start!! I've liked the cars I've owned and would own most again.

* bought new

1997 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport -- first love
2006 Honda Civic - boring but nice upgrade in quality
2009 Subaru STi* - stage2, first car I tracked, and blew the motor in
2008 BMW 335i - dinan software, great value car as CPO
2002 BMW M3 - tracked this thing a decent amount, loved it
2012 VW Passat TDI* -nice car, 47mpg was great but only lasted 3 months/8k mi, boring.
2012 Tundra Crewmax Rock Warrior* - liked it a lot, wheelbase annoyed wife
2013 BMW 328i* - smaller for wife, slow, accident magnet, had to go
2014 BMW X3* - nice starter family car
2011 BMW 335i -loved the first one, wasn't a great color combo, got the itch..
2015 BMW M3* - DCT transmission, track sleeper weapon
2016 BMW M3* - wanted lower payments, couldn't find something I liked enough, got another one
2016 GMC Yukon Denali* -outgrew the X3, range rovers break constantly and are too small. Lovery this.
2016 Chevy Camaro 1SS* - didn't want to pay $950/mo since my commute dropped and free time to go on drives disappeared. Still wanted fast, fun, track capable, capable of hauling 2 car seats + wife. Great car with 1100mi... first track day next week, gotta get 400 more miles on the diff first. Challenge accepted!

Only have the last two right now. Plan on keeping them a while but I have said that with every new car I've gotten haha.
