I couldnt tell on my iphone but at home with good headphones at the 34 sec mark you can clearly hear the blower whine. The birds are a separate sound. What a bummer the Z/28 appears to not be NA.

Every single road course event that I've gone to that has had a C7 Z06 has had them overheat (except for one) and it is the engine overheating and going into limp mode. Not the transmission.

Let's hope the rumors of a 700+ hp GT500 aren't true. It wouldn't be good for GM to leave the GT350R unchallenged and then get smoked by a much more powerful GT500.

Whine or no whine...I couldn't care less. Get this thing tested and back to the States so I know how much I need to spend to get it.

I agree with you... no whine.
It's not the acceleration doing it... it's those big honkin' brakes.

I gotta wonder how many GM engineers are reading this thread and just laughing. "Look at how much we've got them speculating and arguing". I know I would be having so much fun messing with Forum members if I was them.
Back on topic - I was a bit disappointed by the exhaust note, didn't sound anything more agressive to me than the NPP on an SS. I was listening on my phone, but.... was hoping for more raw, race ready exhaust note. |

Definately sounds NA to me. Its decelerating @ 0:34 sec in... probably gear whine in the trans, brakes, or tires humming. I would like to see a Direct injected ls7 in this thing. Good god would that be BAF.

There's a video by Car Scoops that has the 5th gen Z/28 and the 6th Gen 1LE in the video as well. The exhaust note between the supposed 6th gen Z/28 and the 1LE don't sound any different under acceleration. The Z does have a nice deep burble at low speed though, noticeable when it enters/exits the GM center.

Anyone else notice how jury rigged the rear wing struts look? In fact they look suspiciously height adjustable... liek they still havent found the sweet spot for their placement....

I think they are height adjustable and you can lower them completely to the body. If you look at the shape of the spoiler it looks like it was designed that way.

In the enthusiast eyes if this Camaro ends up LT4 powered then it should be called ZL1.R or something other than Z/28. I just get the feeling from recent GM marketing decisions that they want to use the Z/28 name more than sticking to it's original formula so using LT4 won't be a big deal to them. Quote:
I hope to be wrong as a LT based Voodoo competitor would be amazing. |
