Still waiting.....

6 weeks in, and I'm at "2051" status.

I'd need to get the car by 5/14/16, in-order to meet the "promised 2 month" timeframe; not gonna happen!

On Monday, I rec'd a $750 GM Offer; I called and spoke to the sales guy, to see if I can use that as well.
After 4 days, no return follow up; I finally emailed the Sales Manager.

Suddenly, the Sales guy responded to my email (coincidece?)!

At this point, they'll either get the car on-time, and deliver it as promised, or they'll fail to and then evoke the 90 day delivery clause and we'll be done.....

Frankly, I don't trust them, and I wouldn't be surprised if they did that.....

I will give FORD one thing: overall, they know how to treat performance car enthusiasts.
Some GM guys do as well, like Wilson Nibblet.....

As for these guys......I am sorry that I brought my mother in law to them, and gave them extra $$ business that they really didn't earn or deserve!!!!

Very frustrating!!!!!

Not looking good.
No TPW assigned yet either.
You might find out Monday or Tuesday that it has......but it may be a production week at the end of May.
That really sucks.
But it does usually take 8-10 weeks

I'm not impressed with GM. They are planning on selling 2017's in the US during the fourth quarter of 2016 and can't even fill a customers order for 2016 here in Canada. I don't really care about dealer allocation. GM should see that one of there customers has committed and put money down to purchase their product and then honour that.

Hope it works out for you.

Well!!!!
I got a call today, guess what, "we cannot get you a '16 car. I will get you in-line for our first '17 car".

Needless to say, I cancelled it!
He would apply my discount, but not match the price of my '16 deal.....

A total waste of 2 months!!

Scrape was with me, when I got the call....Total BS!

F'ers!

If your Car is being made.... How can they say you are not getting it??
Do you have a copy of your Workbench?
The car is being built with your name on it....or should be.
2050 is order changed? Changed to what. Maybe they bumped it to a 2017? So what, you get a 2017 for the deal you signed, again, it is being built on YOUR order. The car is for You.

Sounds like they wanted out of the deal....You got a great deal! Don't let go of it. You bought the car, you have a bill of sale. Nothing they can do about it. They have to get you the car you ordered from GM

Call my guy Tony Ladas @ New Roads Chev. Won't hurt to chat with someone else.

I think you should tell us the dealer and the sales guy. So anyone else won;t make the mistake of going there.

Hey there.

I've mentioned before, I thought-Roy Foss Thornhill.

Ironically, as all of this was going on yesterday, a new member, Singh101 was getting his car from them......I am happy for him, but had to chuckle, when reading of his great experience......

- I never got a copy of a workbench, just a verbal of it.
- I still don't know what 2051 meant
- I agree, my '16 car and price should've been honoured. As he was willing to give me the same discount, based on the new car, he was ok with that, as his margin would remain the same

In the end, I was ok with the sales guy. He was/is hampered by poor management!

Even he feels that the managers are cocky and need to "get their heads out of their asses".
He is frustrated, as the culture needs to change from old-school Caddy and Buick store, to a progressive store that looks after the performance customer as well...

Apparently, the Woodbridge store, that now has a Caddy franchise is doing well, and making the Thornhill store look bad.

Ironically, I mailed a letter to the management at Foss, and copied it to GM Customer Relations on Friday after work......

As such, if GM calls me, I will try to get them to work a deal via another dealer, for a similar $ on a '17.

If not, I'm a big boy. I'll get over it and look to do a deal elsewhere.

Needless to say, yesterday when I was getting my deposit back, I noticed that the manager in-question kept his distance from me....just as well, as I was angry enough to say things that I may have regretted.....

Nonetheless, I will do a deal elsewhere. I will still get a car.

Apologies for the rant, long posts, whining, complaining, etc.!

Cheers!

Nicely said sstoronto! I freakin' hate the Thornhill store. Terrible customer support. Woodbridge store is much better.

Sorry to hear that, literally spent 20 minutes reading this thread to have it end like this.. brutal. I would file a complaint and write an online review of the dealership if I were you. Completely unacceptable service.

Thanks Cody.

It's been a total soap opera!

Now, I need to hunker-down and try to get a local car (not an easy task).

NEVER APOLOGIZE for getting screwed over, and rant all you want, we have to expose these dealerships.

Good on you, you have your deposit "get the hell outta dodge" (oops wrong manufacturer ), you know what I mean.
Start fresh elsewhere, at a dealership that has a reputation for selling as many sports cars, as daily drivers.

Good Luck.

I don't get why it's so hard for you guys to find Camaros. I literally walked into the showroom, sat in the car, took it for a ride, put my deposit on it and bought it 3 days later. We have dealerships with 4-5 2SS cars sitting in their lot waiting to be bought. Maybe Alberta is different..

I guess it is different.
The GTA has a lot of people, and few SS's.

The ones that I see are LOADED with MRC, Brembo's, Sunroof, extra LPO wheels, stripes, etc.

I want a 2SS with only NPP and Nav. I may take wheels, but that's it.
I love the roofline and don't want, use, nor will I pay for a sunroof.

As production is winding down, there are few on lots and fewer set to show up (that aren't pre-sold....).

If it was still March, and I didn't get dicked-around, I'd have more options and more of a chance to get what I wanted.

For me, as it'll cost me 50K+ in "after-tax-hard-earned-dollars", I'm not going to settle for a car that I don't want or won't be in-love with.....

P.

suggestion for Ontario folk who don't want to wait - buy in Alberta off the lot, drive back to Ontario, break in period done! lol...
