I really hope that thing is priced appropriately. It's seriously focused and I'd rather not see it end up like Gen5 Z/28s just sitting around.

Someone should tell Corvette that they're racing a pair of RICERs

Chevy offers a car for you. It's called a ZL1. This car is obviously for track enthusiasts, if you're not one then it's pointless to get this car.

But I think the answer is more obvious. Its a Z/28, with the LT4. It will be a stripped down ZL1, without the interior features, and plenty of weight savings to offset the performance additions.

The big question for me is whether the Z/28 will come standard with the Carbon brakes and the extra downforce stuff (basically give you the best track version and that's it) or will they include this stuff in the "Race" package, and it not be included on the standard Z/28?

My opinion, but those that want to have the option of adding all the interior creature comforts and features, but still want a track capable car just need to be shopping the ZL1. Those that want a super track focused ride will want the Z/28. If the CC brakes and extra aero are standard, I don't look for it to be less than the $75K asked for the 5th gen.
I wouldn't mind seeing a Z/28 and Z/28.R, the "R" with more aero and race ready. Similar to what Ford did to the GT350.

This Z28 looks mean! Gonna be a track monster! Those wheels look nice and those tires are wide. I like it! Look out GT350R

GM has been very smart in their use of carry over from the racing teams. If they put a spoiler that big on the car, there is a good reason for it! I love every bit of this car and hope it makes it to production largely unchanged.

Atta boy, GM!!

Well not everything else. Cadillac never got the LS7 and Corvette never got the LSA. Cadillac never got the LS3 or LT1.

What intrigues me are those Cadillac turbo's. Could they find their way into the Z/28? Probably not but...

3.6L TT boosted to 530hp
3.0L TT boosted to 500hp
4.2L TT boosted to 550hp
LT1 bored out to 7L with 7000RPM redline

There are those rumors of an ATS-V Plus, could it share an engine?

LSA came from the LS9 in the Vette. Not to split hairs or anything

I hate to burst everyone's bubble about this being a retractable spoiler but it most definitely is not. Take a look at the picture I blew up. Circled in red is an "L" shaped adjustable hinge so it obviously does not retract there. Circled in yellow is where the spoiler supports are welded to the flange that is bolted to the trunk. This spoiler isn't retractable but does appear to be adjustable (manually).

really? because I can only think of one way to get that kind of down force, and its with a large wing.

So I guess Dodge, Porsche, and Nissan (along with many others) should be hitting you guys up for advice.

yea, definitely not retractable. Adjustable, but not retractable.

I love it, wing and all. Glad to see Chevy stepping up their game. This will be a serious contender on the track.

This car is for more than car shows and photoshoots, if you don't want a serious streetable track car then there are other trim levels to satisfy you.
