Honestly better of to just do a supercharger and be done with it. A supercharger alone on a stock SS is going to put down near 500whp.

Never been a fan of FI on engines not built for it. To each his own, though. There's a lot of discussion on the pros and cons of FI on high compression NA engines elsewhere, but I've seen too many issues come up to consider this a reliable long term build. Most people end up purposely building a new engine for their SC combo after breaking things.

Also, if you believe the 15% drivetrain loss value, we are at 483 "crank" HP with just a tune and PTB uncorrected on a Mustang dyno. I'm not a true believer in that number with these new transmissions and configurations, but we did pick up nearly four tenths in the 1/4 mile and running in the FL heat and humidity.

We added a CAI cold air kit, but now can't get traction at the track due to the increase in torque we have. It's DR time if we are going to be able to use our added power. We didn't get to dyno and find out what our gains are with the CAI. But if the manufacturer numbers are solid, we would have picked up an additional 11 or so HP to the wheels giving us approx 430. That would be close to your 500 crank number at 495ish. Headers on top of our config along with a retune would do it easily.

This is certainly true. My FR-S was the same way at 12.5:1. It limits the amount of boost you will use and e85 is about the only fuel to use to achieve more boost on DI.

I mean you run 5 pounds of boost or something safe and youre good to go. You keep the same drivability and fuel mileage. Guy in my area has a procharger kit on his. He loves it. Thing is a beast. A properly built kit from a reputable company will be completely safe as long as you dont tamper with it.

Hey Jared. What have you been able to do with an LT4 at your shop? I'm curious how far you can take the LT4 with changing internals...
