I appreciate the tshirt. I won't be able to wear it as I wear a 3xlt and the largest you have is a 2xlt. Gives me some incentive to drop some weight I guess.
You can do it! I am also trying to lose weight.

I did too, but if you check the tracking number on that email, it should be the same as the tracking number on the T-Shirt email a couple of days earlier. I was excited as well. T-12 days and counting.

The second email makes no mention of the tshirt. You are correct though, it's the same tracking number so, all it is is the tshirt. Their notification system needs some fine tuning.

As promised, check out some full shots of the intake below!

We are still on track to begin sending out shipments on May 16th, so hopefully this will tie everyone over. I'll be sure to keep everyone posted.

So what does everyone think? Don't hesitate to post your comments below!!!

I like it, but I have a question, it is not being made to chastize. What I want to know, is now that CAI has theirs and this one is on the market. From what I can tell is the physical appearance is almost identical, why would I buy your product over the other? I suppose I could ask the competion the same question.... Thank you

I can tell you why I bought from them rather than CAI. I appreciated the way Mishimoto shares their R&D and explains how they came up with their product and proposed gains. They didn't say it's proprietary and you'll just have to trust them.
Astectically with the colored tube, I thinks it looks better.
And! It's cheaper!

I bought a intake from CAI and will also buy this Mishimoto one as i have a whistle noise coming from my current CAI intake thats driving me nuts. So what im going to do to see if this is a problem with just CAI's intake on my Camaro or any installed intake will make the same whistle pitch noise then i know to go back to stock box filter. I will be a test dummy for it and will be selling them both off if for in the classified section for cheap as possible if its the fault of my Camaro's intake manifold build and noise persists....

There are a few things that set our intake apart from what is on the market right now. As for looks, we actually have a pretty unique design. The elbow may look like a simple straight silicone elbow from an aerial view, but you don't get to see the entire thing at an engine bay's glance. Take a look at what our very first prototype looked like.

This was a straight, 4.5 inch intake elbow with a 90 degree bend and no other curvatures. We actually lost quite a bit of power with this intake elbow. It was upon getting those results we had to revisit and completely revamp the design. Check out our prototype that the blue silicone piece you see now is essentially based off of.

The shape itself is unique which was not done on accident. There is particular reasoning behind this type of design. The working theory behind this shape is that by providing more volume in the tube, there would be an increase in airflow density and velocity directed into the throttle body. Increasing the outer radius along the edge of the tube around the bend proved our theory right and we made more power over our initial design which was essentially a straight silicone elbow which is pictured below. This yielded actual power gains that were consistent and repeatable.

We also upped our intake inlet size to a full 5 inches and know that this will make power while being safe to run on a stock tune. It is not a restriction in anyway to this V8 and air fuel ratios are within perfectly safe operating parameters. We have some awesome color options including black, blue (pictured on the car now) and red as well as a Lifetime Mishimoto Warranty! If you'd like, check out our post on this thread here to see, in even more detail, the process we went to get to the final product.

A lot of time and energy was invested in the engineering behind this intake and rather rush to be the first on the market, we wanted to ensure the product we are putting out is the best that it can be. It's important that we keep our focus on our product and not let any outside factors misguide our expectations and project plans. I really hope this helps with your concerns! Anything else please let me know.

We had to take the kit off of the car for other purposes. Don't worry, it's safe and sound!
