What's wrong with the A8? Let me know if your oil pan needs replacing too, since ours were built on the same day lol

A8 started not shifting from 1st to 2nd yesterday, would buck wildly then eventually shift. Was worse today, took it in. Just heard back after the tech talked to GM, ECM was reflashed/relearned, they test drove, all is fine. They are keeping it overnight to test drive on a cold engine. Oil pan had engraved numbers, got the all clear. They did the AA update as well, since I was waiting to bring it in for an oil change, do everything together since going to the dealer is worse than going to the dentist sometimes! Lol.

I've only seen 1 guy needing this done, that's it lol. More than 1 person actually NEEDED to get this done? Mine being what it is, I didn't even need it... Wonder if it was more a CTS-V issue with SOME camaros? It isn't labeled as a recall but a "Customer Satisfaction Program" which is why it makes me think that.

SSport16, glad you got it taken care off!

So the higher the number the newer the build? And if so the newer the less likely to need it or the more likely to need it?

I am thinking the same thing, probably the few that need it was because short on oil pans, borrowed the V, curious to see if the V is more wide spread.

Thanks, glad too! Speaking of CTS-V saw one in the showroom today when I brought the SS in, gorgeous car. $90k though. They had a new XT5 too, nice, real close to my SRX though with a much nicer interior.

Yes, higher number is a newer build. I would think the newer builds now are using the correct non problematic pans.
