Not sure if you were referring to me, mine was built 4/8 and has been at 4B00 for a few days but I still have hope that I'll take delivery by 5/2 (when my private offer expires), it's still a full two weeks away. Also private offers can't be transferred unless it's to someone who resides in the same residence (I believe that's how I read it).

Forgive my ignorance but I see people talking about private offers. What are those about? Is that for trade-ins???? Or is it some secret discount? I have a GM supplier discount so I wasn't sure if this was something extra.

Skip GM Supplier discount, it's still higher than the dealer invoice price. Shoot for dealer invoice and don't take no for an answer. SOOOO many of us have gotten it. Next a private offer come from surfing the Chevrolet.com website. People often get them to pop up when they are "building" a car on the website. It's a pop up cash allowance offered by Chevrolet where when it pops up you enter your information and it will email you a validation code to take to your dealer to get $1000 extra off your Camaro. This can be stacked on top of dealer invoice printing since it's a cash allowance offered by Chevrolet, the dealer doesn't loose anything. However the current private offer is only valid until 5/2. Start looking on the "private offer" threads. There are a bunch of AWESOME guys who don't need them yet Trey to get them anyway so that they can give them to guys on here. It how I got mine.

You should have negotiated your price when you ordered. However, the $1k private offer would be stacked on top of whatever you negotiated. If you negotiated a price of $41k then, with private offer, you'll pay $40k.

I was always under the impression that the supplier price was set in stone by the manufacturer (there was no negotiation). When I bought the Altima I have now, the day we worked out the finances the supplier price was actually higher than the invoice price and they gave me the invoice price since it was lower by lowering the price on something at the dealership end (I can't remember what). So in the end regardless of what my supplier discount was I was still able to get a lower price than what I thought.

I'd like to think I have some negotiating room, but even with my simple order I have yet to find a dealer that has the exact car i'm looking for....which will make it harder for me to walk away if they won't budge

I'm also not in a hurry for a car. If you aren't in a hurry either, I would play the: "I might as well wait for a '17 model" card since those orders are beginning later this month from what I hear. Even if not much is changing, 1 year is still 1 year to the depreciation devil. Don't get me wrong...I want my car, but I also don't want to pay more than I think I should. I'm targeting ~$3500 off of MSRP with the PO. |

$3500 off MSRP including the PO is possible if your MSRP is around $48k. The invoice on this would be around $46k, plus with a holdback of $1440, you could probably get them to dip into the holdback by $300-600. Which would put around that $2500 before PO mark. However if your MSRP is around $38k then the invoice is around $36,400, with a hold back of $1140. If you are good you'll be able to get them to dip into this for $200-400. Which would put you at around $1800-2000 off before PO. With cash bonus or other rebates and incentives, it's just not going to happen. Not to mention the major quarterly quotas were up at the end of March. They won't be up again until the end of June.

I got GMS pricing so, there was zero negotiating on the price of the vehicle. The price of my trade however, was a different story. In the end, I got what I needed out of it. My only annoyance is that my vehicle was delivered 4 days after it was built and I did all my financing paperwork the 13th (when it was delivered) assuming we wouldn't have any Private Offers for April. Apparently, they started showing up on the 16th. So, I missed $1k off the vehicle. :(
