19" tire question for Track/AutoX junkies
I see some of you are considering 19" wheels.
What are the tires you are thinking of? I was trying to get the Extreme summer tires (so I can drive to and from track without towing tires) and square set up for all 4 corners, so my options were 285/35/20 - Potenza RE070R or Hankook RS3 If you guys know of some nice street tires that would work great on track in size 19", please share the info. Thanks!!

19": Bridgestone RE71R, Yokohama AD08R, Hankook RS3, Bridgestone RE11 (in that order).
20": Hankook RS3 (only real autox/track street tire for 20's). Take the change in gearing and slightly off speedo and go to the 26.6" overall diameter from the stock 27.6". Jump to the 19's. Last edited by Mountain; 04-15-2016 at 02:34 PM. Reason: Simplify sentence |

front and the 9.5 in rear wheels. For 20 in, you might as well stay with the Goodyear runflats as there are no real extreme options like with the 19 in wheels. The goodyears are actually pretty good, especially on transitions, like in a salomon due to the stiff sidewalls and fit on the wheel. The real problem is the car needs wider tires due to the engine torque. However no more F/Stock. I ran my car last month and did okay. Probable will go to 19 in wheels and Bridgestone RE-71s after I check out the car with the new factory lowering springs and shocks. |

Chuck, it's F/Street now.
Haven't used Stock in a couple years when they went to street tires.--kC |
