It definitely revs the engine if I'm in a low gear (2nd) and just depress the clutch. I turn it on only in higher gears for that reason.

Just read the owners manual and the Camaro rev matches in both up shifts and downshifts. Every other manufacturer matches only on downshifts. The reason we are getting two blips, the first one putting the clutch in is that it is anticipating an up shift, and is just keeping the revs form dropping any lower than they would be once you select the next highest gear. It has to do this once the clutch is pressed, as up shifts are quick and it has to be ready, or it will be caught out by you.

The second blip comes when the lever is gated into lower gear, now the system knows you are going for a downshift so it blips the rpm to match engine speed once clutch is released.

A lot of times in street driving, I will skip gears on up shift, after getting up to speed in 2nd, I will go right to 5 or 6 for cruising. Be interesting to see how auto rev match responds. Good thing about this system is that it is so quick and easy to toggle on/off that I can use it or not, depending on my driving situation.

it does, when you're going from 5th/6th to neutral. it assumes your going into 4th/3rd so it revvs

Interesting...

My '14 revs up sometimes when I shift to neutral, but that's because the engine is under load when I hit the clutch...I don't think this is the same thing.

Very interesting that the car I was given for the Find New Roads tour didn't do this.

I suppose the "solution" is to just shift quickly so the extra rev doesn't seem extraneous. Since I'm new to the M6 game I've been taking my time, to make sure I'm in the right gear before I let out the clutch. Still sort of annoying when you just want to coast...

On a 2014 SS there is no active rev match system so the only reason it should rev when you go into neutral is if you are pressing the gas pedal when you release the clutch to shift to neutral.

The active rev match on the new SS is not on by default so you would need to toggle it on first.

No, I know that.

But sometimes when I'm coasting down the road at low speeds, the engine will be under load, trying to maintain rpms...and when I hit the clutch the engine will "unwind" and rev up slightly. No foot on gas.

It's totally different, I'm sure - but the description was similar.

As soon as u push in the clutch the motor revs up .and the neighbors look at me like I'm trying to show off revving the motor lol.
Anyway around this? I go to neutral to coast to a stop and it will blip the throttle :/

Aside from that, ARM is awesome.. But because I go to neutral alot (Don't all of us do?) it gets quite annoying!

Also, no hill assist! That sucks!

The rev match is just OK for me. The throttle blipping when you slip into neutral makes me just keep it off most of the time.

My 1SS M6 has hill assist. Not sure why you wouldn't.

Exactly why I don't have it on, I pretty much go to neutral before stopping 100% of the time.

What? I called one dealer around me and said there's no hill assist and just left it that. I def. roll back on a slight grade!

Here is a lengthy thread about hill assist: http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showth...ht=hill+assist

I don't see mine engage very often. Many say its quite intrusive and others say they aren't sure its even there. Mine engages only on a fairly decent slope.

Driving around town I don't like it on. It blips when you don't need or want it too. Shift into neutral coasting to a light and it blips. Lay your hand on the shifter and it blips again. Now, rowing up and down thru the gears on a rampage and it works flawlessly. Then I love it.

I think this is what the OP wants to know, Active rev match will only rev the the engine up to 5400 rpm. So if your in 6th gear going maybe 70 mph and you downshifted to 2nd gear, you need to do a steady 70mph in 2nd gear to see what rpm your cruising at. If its over 5400 rpm, ref match will not work. Find out what speed in 2nd gear is 5300 rpm and that's the speed you can use rev match if you want to go into 2nd gear, like for roll racing purposes.
