I took mine in today and turns out I'm lucky and don't need the service. Might be the same for you. How's that 4Runner treating you?

Shazam!

At autocross today, a couple of the Vette guys were telling me about the change in service schedule for their motors because of a different oil issue. Something about having to do the first one at 200 miles.

500 miles for Z51’s, and it was a simple oil change to get some lubricant and adhesives out of the oil from engine assembly, nothing like this fiasco....

My Vin was in the recall but some within these vin codes have already been taken care of and will require no repairs. I took mine in and had it checked and it was all good. There is a number or something on the front are of the oil pan that lets the dealer know it will not require any further action.

That blows, mine is on the recall list. I guess the only silver lining is I will get my first oil change for free.

Guys thanks for posting the detailed bulletin!!!! Just got out from under my car and I don't have the raised numbers

Still gonna run with the oil pressure gauge up and schedule the appointment to have them double check and clear the recall on the car to be on the safe side.

No problem and I agree. Mine did pop the recall but even if it didn't, I would still have the dealership check it lol. Especially since the results of this issue could be DISASTROUS! Better to be safe than sorry!

Well mine is on the list. I may take a look at it or I may just go ahead and take it back to the dealer for them to check. There was an issue with the paint during the PDI and now I've found two new issues from the work they did trying to fix it... I'm afraid I'm about to get screwed over that at this point as I just hand dried my car for the first time and found the new issues. I never should've let em paint a brand new car's door and now Ive found overspray and something else in the paint near the repair...

Great my car is part of this recall. The car has been sitting in the garage for the past month since I got it. I did read the bulletin that someone posted earlier. I did have a question though. Once the dealer would look at my vehicle and if they did have to perform this recall, how is this almost a 10 hour job? Do you have to pull the motor to get access to the oil pan? I wouldn't think this would be the case. I also see GM is supplying courtesy transportation if the recall needs to be performed.

The motor has to be lifted up in a cradle to get the pan out.
