I can safely say GM, for me at least, has not only stepped up to the plate... They have gone beyond for me.. Not very user is the same, not every story is the same.

OP: Please send me a PM with your information . I will reach out to the executive office I'm currently working with and see if I can pass your information along.. I do not feel comfortable sharing his information without permission... But I have a feeling this might help you out a bit more than whats going on now.

GM does not want bad press, you are correct.. Lets see how this plays out, but I wish you the best of luck.
That's interesting. The dealership replaced my car and in turn were getting X amount of money to cover the loss. When it came time for the dealership to get paid GM shorted them 2200.00.

At this point Dave I feel the dealership was calling my bluff , District Manager said they would paint right!, well I told him with much displeasure I wanted to go over the terms of what where why and how . He said he needed to call me back to set up a day !!, this was 3 days ago and nothing!!!!. New York has great lemon laws and they have officially put themselves in the category, I've been more than patient ( considering I took the car to them back in January ) they have done NOTHING to fix the issue and as per Lemon law the are in breach of the law. It will be interesting to see what Chevrolet does ! Last opportunity this week coming

I bought my car in Buffalo in Feb. Got home and opened the passenger door and it hit the front fender . I wasnt happy . New car with two chips in the door to fender jam. They fixed it but i couldn't believe I got it home before I knew about it .

Btw ...it's funny ..... my first car was a 72 Nova SS that we put a 427 with an M-22 4 speed in ( original 350 4sp car ) . At the same time my dad had a 67 camaro drag car (454 with a power glide).
I saw your other cars and thought it was kinda cool.

I Love driving my car just hate the fact it's not what I paid for,

Used to have a 70SS Nova all original 396 4sp , sold it 3 kids makes money tight lol bUT found my 69 nova few years ago .
1st pic is before roll cage 2nd is where it's at now , have to finish the back half this year, maybe I should have just spent my money on my old cars instead of buying and partially painted new one .

My car paint issues were well documented before I left the dealer, they seemed to be haze marks in the clear so I figured it was an easy fix. It wasn't until they paid a resto mod guy to fix the clear that the real paint issue were seen and my dealer was all over it to get it resolved. Also the chemical reaction my paint had even after delivery under the clear coat was unreal...

In this image you can see how the paint lifted from the hood and was collecting at the bottom creating a valley on the hood lines.

I took a long time of waiting, but GM is buying my car back.

That's Great sledge!!! , Besides the spots on my car the didn't get coverage, it was also documented that their was the same issue with hazing my rear spoiler looks like someone sprayed it with a no gloss clear! . I just can't put it together in any common sense how someone could watch these cars leave the plant and say. ,, they'll never notice sent it out . That's why EVERYONE that read this thread needs to be VERY DILIGENT and don't get caught up in the excitement of the car before you sign check out your Car

Spoilers, front and rear fascias, door handles, OSRV mirrors are all painted by the supplier. GM basically paints the body only.

This is a difficult one as a modern paint shop in an automobile plant is probably the most automated process in the plant. Humans do very little as far as painting the car. Robots open and close the doors.

That being said, there is inspection that should catch a bad paint job. There can be problems as most plants do also have a paint repair process and that is much more manual than the original paint job.

Further, OP, this is the same paint shop that paints Cadillacs, so GM may or may not be looking at your issue from the customer perspective. They have a ton of data on the performance of that paint shop and customer complaints.

Some of this seems to be the dealer. A good dealer will work with you and GM to get issues resolved. I've had service managers reach out on my behalf. You've said what GM is willing to do, but have you heard this directly from GM or just your dealer telling you what GM is willing to do?

Hopefully now that Chevrolet customer service is involved you will get some response through GM and not you dealer. I've had good luck with this in the past.

Hope this gets resolved to your satisfaction.

I know that the dealer is a agent for chevrolet and they can't just say it's the dealership that is the issue , So Far the people I've been in contact through chevrolet has been very sincere and they address my issues and are trying to get the dealership to do what they should think it's a fine line so to say, I really feel that even tho the paint and other issue may have happened and should have been caught by chevrolet, THAT my frustration is with the dealership they dropped the ball and keep ignoring that they did because " I feel " they don't want to accept the fault because it will most likely cost them a few dollars because they should have noticed these things before they released the car to me!!!. Now they want me to just go away and tell me they will void my paint warranty if I do a repaint, Now that I've agree to their terms and say yes let's repaint and fix , Because Chevrolet told me they Have to honor a warranty they haven't contacted me , my opinion its on the dealer at this point , I don't want to go back and that's the way I will have it , I feel they will give me crap work like they have done from the very beginning with my 15 high country duramax

Not really. It's not clear what those people are doing, who they are or if they are even involved in plant quality whatsoever. So I wasn't sure how that picture has anything to do with LGR and their ability to build a quality product.

I'm just not sure how anyone claims the "repair" (repainting your car) voids your warranty. My bigger concern with that would be does that void just the paint? Or are they going further and voiding your 3 year cosmetic, 6 year rust through warranty? At least those were the years I recall.

That is what really isn't making sense to me.

You could also have GM let you go to another dealer if you have doubts. Is there another close by?
