Costco Pricing on 2SS

Hi all,

Anyone know if the Costco pricing is no longer available for the 2016 Camaro 2SS? I am speaking to a dealership and he is telling me that its an excluded vehicle. I could have sworn a few months ago that the Costco pricing included the Camaro.

Any advise is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Derol

I don't believe dealers are obligated to the costco price.

I understand. I am just trying to find some leverage.

I may just call it off with this dealership. They are trying to quote me an invoice price that is almost $1k above what we all know is the correct invoice price.

Invoice you'll find on buyers sites is not correct. There may be anywhere from $5-700 additional costs to the dealer for advertising associations. They pay this per unit and it is billed and on the invoice from GM...It's not bogus. True invoice is only really $1000+ a bit down from retail. Of course there is an additional 3% holdback ($12-1400) which dealers are reluctant to dip into...An invoice deal + any private offer (Conquest rebate etc) is not a bad deal if you do not qualify for supplier pr1cing.

Modshack,

Thank you for the info and actually dealership called me back and confirmed what you just write. They included in their invoice price hold back cash and advertising LMA.

I ordered a 2SS yesterday for $2,500 below MSRP which I believe is less than invoice with just negotiating. They said they removed the advertising cost... if they were telling the truth. Anyway, that price will dip lower once I can add in GM rebates.

Oh, and that also included any and all fees (everything other than ttl)... if that helps.

The private offers. Those can only be used right at the point of purchase and not when the build is ordered correct? In other words, if I want to use a private offer, I need to get it a few days within when I am taking possession of the vehicle?

You'll have to find one in the same month. They expire on the last day of the month.

I ordered Wednesday. The prices I found here on the forums of -4% off the model and -9% off the options was dead on with what I was shown was invoice pricing on them. What I had for destination ($995) tax and all that was right also. I did notice there was an extra line item of $945 for advertising/ adjustment which I questioned and the Sales Manager told me exactly what Modshack said. It's a legit fee. In the end it didn't bother me because the deal was extremely good so I didn't care how they arrived at the price. It was below invoice, I was told it was the Costco deal.

Ad association fees are higher in the big cities, SoCal, NYC etc. In Kentucky it might be half of that....So where you buy does make a difference...

You started in the wrong place. You have to start here for Costco.

http://www.costcoauto.com/

You have to get an authorization number. Then they will assign you to a dealership.

Offers on a new build will depend on when you take delivery. Once they assign you a dealer, your first questions must be "Do you have Dealer Allocation? If I place an order with you today, when will it be matched to your allocation?"

Interesting, I assumed it was a dealer scheme to mark up the price, but like I said I had a price under invoice in writing so I didn't make a stink about it.
It is nice to know though because the salesman really was a good guy and had excellent follow up. This only improves my impression of him and the dealer to know it's part of GM's program.

By the way Modshack I remember you from the 370Z forums, apparently I'm following you over here (although I think you probably had a car or 2 in between).
