I installed my Escort 9500 with a mount that sticks on the windshield with 3M tape. I connected the mirrortap cable to the airbag light but it was about an inch too short. Really didn't want to take the console apart again so I tried a regular phone cord extension connector with a short cord but the contacts didn't line up and the detector didn't power up. Searched my junk drawer and found a phone cord adapter/extension that came with an old fax/scanner/printer I had. Plugged it in to the mirrortap cable and the detector worked perfectly. Tucked the adapter/extension under the headliner and it disappeared.

(I remember that the fax would not work without this particular adapter/extension and lucky for me the contacts are in the right place for the Escort......hmmmm Escort detectors aren't made by HP are they )

The problem with this world is stupidity.
I'm not saying there should be penalties for stupidity,
but why don't we just take the warning labels off everything and let the problem solve itself.

I was curious about mounting between the 2 humps on the gauge cluster. It'd be just below the HUD...is there visibility there or is the steering wheel in the way? I'm apposed to having it on my windshield, I'm hoping I can put it somewhere where it isnt an eye sore or in the way.
