Body colored hood vents

Are the hood vents easily swapped? will they be available from GM or are they only factory installed? I ask because I'm going to order my Camaro with the body colored hood vents to contrast the black rally stripes, but want to know if I can switch them out in the future for some black ones in the event that I get tired of the stripes or want to wrap my car.

Did any you get this option for your Camaro? is so, please post pics!

this is my planned look

Very easy swap! I think they look so much better this way.

Hyper

Do you have to remove the hood liner to install?

And do they screw into hood from underneath?

I ordered my SS with this option, and am concerned PDI guy will mess the install up.

Thnx

Yes you remove the hood liner, 2 10mm nuts, clips, and double side tape hold them on. Took me 5 minutes to remove everything!
Good luck

The black ones would look much better with black hood stripes.

I disagree. You have to see it in person. I had second thoughts, but when i saw it at the dealership, i fell in love with the black accent balance that the red hood vents offer.

Well, that's why they give us the option I guess. I want them to disappear. You want them to be a focal point. Its all good.

Edit: I have to take it back. I just saw a post with red with black stripes with black vents. They don't look right because the stripe doesn't hide all the red around the vent. So some of the red is still showing. Your first instinct to go with red vents will look a lot better than that. Glad I got to see it.

I don't understand why GM did the vent cutouts on the stripes that way leaving a gap around them! When I get mine made mine will end underneath the vents like they should.

Yeah, that looks really bad. They don't even follow the shape of the hood vents.

I'm not a fan of stripes on the Gen6 car anyhow. They don't flow well with the lines of the car.

At least non of the factory ones I've seen.
