This seems like an extreme action imho. If it's the same low groan when making a turn when the car is still cold, it just needs a fluid change

I told him that as well but he said he is changing the diff.

I say this every day...thank god this forum exists. Monday we had our first acutal "cold" day at 45F degrees. I experienced this same thing on the first hard turn after starting the car. Sounded like a rotational noise and then a thud. After it does it one time, it seems to stop. I had no clue what it was until I came here.

Is there an official service bulletin for this or a number for it? My service department is saying there is no such issue right now, and since I drive 5 miles to the shop, they say they can't replicate the issue.

I don't have the specific bulletin #, but I know that there are certain VINs that fall into the category that the dealer can check. Mine makes a squeak when slowing down, even does it without applying the brakes. I am going to have mine checked out when I bring my car in soon.

I will have to check then. Also, for about 2 weeks now my car has also had a "rotational" squeak that can be heard when the windows are down when driving between 0 and about 14 miles and hour. It sounds like it is coming from the rear passenger side, so I am hoping this is related and will fix that as well. That same tire also seems to squeal when braking slowly below 15 mph as well.

I'm with you brother. I took delivery yesterday and mentioned this issue and he looked through everything and didn't see any bulletin on it or whatever other mediums he could check.

Why wouldn't this be in the system yet? Seems as rampant as passenger side recliner issue.

I spoke with a different dealer's service department, and after the service manager was spoken to, they did find some sort of bulletin about it, but it's not found in the normal TSB system I guess? Not sure of exact details.
The unfortunate part is, they have to replicate the problem before they will do anything...and it only happens on cold starts....ugh

So my issues are this. My car makes a rubbing or squeaking sound almost when there is vibration. It reminded me or almost like something is loose and hitting something under my car. It happens all the time in low or high speed with its a rough road. Sometimes I can get it to do it just by turning the wheels. Not sure if this is what you guys are experiencing or not.

My dealer is acting like nothing is wrong with my car and won't do anything under the warranty even though these squeaks and chirps are NOT "normal" as they say. They are so loud at times it is almost embarrassing to drive around with.

I think I am just going to pay someone to have them change my Rear Diff Fluid since the dealer won't do it unless it is an offical Service Bulletin (Can anyone who has had a dealer help them give me any sort of info on where their dealer found the unoffical service bulletin???). Really not impressed with my dealer. I might have to look for another nearby.

I have the same issue with the Diff and my dealer is replacing the whole thing. What I heard was there were a batch of differentials where some of the metal plates between the clutches are backwards, loaded in the wrong order or there are 2 metal ones next to each other. I was told GM wants it back for further inspection and as soon as mine comes in from Lansing they will get it swapped out.
