Bought some "New Take Offs" and theyre damaged

I bought some split spoke take offs from a dealer a couple hours from me.

He assured me they were not damaged, when I picked them up they were super dirty, I inspected one only because of time, and trusted their word. Stupid me...

Well I got them home, and just this morning got a chance to clean them up and there are various scratches on each wheel, also some indentations near each valve stem from them unmounting the tires.

Im not interested in working with the dealer, so im considering calling the credit card company I used and getting my money back.

What would you folks do? Am I being too critical?

Heres a few pics

A pisser for sure, and most likely damaged during the dismounting process, but technically they are used wheels. I guess it depends on if you want to haul them all the way back to the dealership and fight the fight. Of course there's always the chance they'll just claim you damaged them after you left their place. Pretty much sucks!

I hate having wheels dismounted/mounted! Seems like no one is capable of doing it without at least some minor damage! I usually ask them to not use impact wrenches when they do mine! I also do a walk around with the rep and make them look at each wheel with me to verify there is no damage when they start.

That would not be right of you to call the credit card company, and is against their policy in most cases. You can get your money back on fraudulent charges, which this is not. The easiest thing to do would be to call the dealer and ask for a refund if the scratches make the wheels no longer worth the price you paid. But I do not advise calling the credit card company as they are only liable to refund fraudulent charges.

Those can be easily touched up to be virtually invisible (by you).
If you're really anal about this hit the dealer up for some wheel refurb $$.
The mobile wheel guys in my area do awesome work for very little money.

You could just get them powder coated for $50 a piece and they would be brand new and in the color you want.

Those look like minor scratches to me and being that they were on a used car not in bad shape at all.

Did you get a good deal? If yes then fix them up and still be under what a new set costs. If not return them.

I wish this were true. The company I work for has been ripped off more than once by scumbags calling their CC company and getting the charges reversed. There's literally no recourse for us either.

Hard to tell in pics, but a good orbital buffer may take those right out...

What did you have to pay for these take offs? I would contact the dealer with your concerns. If he is a reputable dealer he would offer to give your money back or at least a discount for the scratches. I'd try that first
