Car manufacturers have legit reasons for going to these buses. Weight reduction, diagnostics, improved reliability. I know that doesn't make you feel any better, but it's not our decision. |

I found a company in Australia that makes MOST adapters...but only for European cars..ie BMW,Porsche,Mini,etc...I emailed them if they were planning on expanding in to the American market. Their reply back was understandable...because they do not have easy access to the American models in order to reverse engineer, they have no plans to expand in to the American market. I do not think their adapters are cheap but at least it promising that the MOST system can be reverse engineered to supply line level...Now to find a company willing to tackle the American branded cars....

Like I said before, for an aftermarket company to take this on, it will take significant cash investment. The automotive companies get a little fussy about anybody "hacking" any of their software these days. Not to mention FMVSS (Ford Motor Vehiicle Safety Specification) requirements. A company that makes already makes aftermarket and OEM for GM, would be ideal to make an adapter. Your pain is felt, I'm just not sure what can be done about it. Automotive software is a very sensitive issue. |
