So just luck of the draw.. Sorry to hear OP..
Do you not have any kind of race legal near where you live? In San Diego we have a track set up in a parking lot of our football stadium once a month. I highly doubt a cop would give you an idea of places you can illegally speed. All it would take is an internet search to find a legal and safe place to race.

I mean, they technically can. Whether it's frowned upon is a different story. When you see stuff on public roads like Ken Block racing around LA in Gymkhana, they actually need to get permission from the city itself, not the local PD. The PD don't own the roads, they just enforce the law and are employees of the city / county / etc.

In the LA area you should have both Irwindale and Pomona that you can go race at. I believe Irwindale is 1/8 mile and Pomona is 1/4 mile. I can't wait to try out race legal in san diego.

Kind of comparing apples to oranges here. Ken Block and the large corporate sponsors who pay to have these roads closed is very different than a guy who wants to find a cool road to drive recklessly on.

I'm aware of the role of police in the grand scheme of things, I was simply suggesting finding a local track to race on instead of a public road.

If I were you I would just remote start it whenever you go by just to scare them. I know you can do it thru the onstar app as well, but I don't know how close you have to be to the vehicle.
