This is a beautiful piece.

It IS the G.M intake, G.M just relabeled.

It dynos at 11 hp and 27 lb-ft of torque and NO tune, http://www.superchevy.com/how-to/eng...in-30-minutes/

Fuel trims are unaffected, not sure how G.M is pulling more out of it with a tune, not too mention that this intake is $100.00 cheaper.

Keep in mind that no tune means no warranty issues.

Installed this morning with no issues at all in about an hour and fifteen. I go slow and methodical. This intake to me initially seemed expensive, but once I received the product and saw the quality, I think the price is well justified. The one thing they don't prepare you for is the windows losing their programming, after you reconnect the battery. Reprogramming is easy though. After reconnecting the battery and starting the car, when prompted on your center display, you fully open, then close each window 2 to 3 times, and that's it.

Performance: As Lethalhammer on youtube stated, "it takes the car a few minutes after first start up for the ECU to recalibrate itself". Now you can really hear the engine sucking in all that air, especially with the hood up. I have not dyno'ed my 2SS manual or taken it to the strip yet, but have many years of experience doing both. The "seat of the pants" meter says "Wow". If I were to guess the forward gees probably went up a tenth or two.

It not only feels stronger, but the sound just got, at full throttle, a lot loader and deeper toned. Very cool! Now I want to see what GM does with getting a good tune in production.

They always tell you to disconnect the battery basically for every little thing that has to do with an electrical device being unplugged or plugged in. I've disconnected the maf and connected it a bunch of times and it's fine. It's not getting power anyway when the car is off.

Mishimoto was about 14hp and 14 lb/tq. Air to fuel was lean, but no tune required. Ordered mine a few days ago.

Although I disconnected the battery per the CAI instructions, the MAF never gets disconnected in the install, it only gets removed from the intake tube and set aside. The directions state to leave the wiring harness plugged in so that your car won't throw a CEL. Agree with you cellsafemode, I never had any issue unplugging the MAF during CAI installs on my other vehicles. Maybe this car is different and it can throw a code if you unplug it even with the negative on the battery removed?

I just had my tuner look at my car yesterday with the CAI. He also agreed that no adjustment to my tune was necessary. I struggled with the choice between Mishimoto and CAI, but ultimately decided to go with CAI because I had used them before and was impressed by the quality.

I've loved my Mishimoto CAI. Especially with more torque in the lower rpms. The sound is wonderful too. It's all each persons opinion I believe.

I've unplugged everything attached to the intake with no codes thrown and no issues.

Some things get power all the time and some don't. The diy instructions simply err on the side of caution.

It isn't necessary to disconnect the battery for maf or throttle body if car is off.

So far, no aftermarket CAI has independently proven much or no power increase. The Chevy CAI is a rebranded aftermarket part. It is a good quality part and it may help you if you add more power mods. Otherwise, it does sound and look nice and hopefully you have one that lets you remove that awful sound tube.

Chevy did a good job with the standard intake, much like Ford did with the 5.0 Coyote.

I saw the performance intake mentioned again in the Chevy SEMA video. Let's hope Chevy can finally bring this to market for those that are interested in it.

It would be nice if the GM one was 50 state legal. I don't expect CAI inc to throw money at our dumb state for Carb approval but GM could afford it.

The LT1 intake is listed in the 2017 catalog with a new part number 84242093. The bad news is that it is listed as not legal in California. Hopefully they are working on the CARB certification and can sell in California soon.

They will be releasing a LT1 California State Legal Intake as well.

Most current Part numbers I have are

2.0T - 84242613
3.6 - 84242620
LT1 - 23408280 ( North America Market )
84162081 & 84242093 ( Non CA Emissions)
84073383 ( CA Emissions)

I've been refreshing numbers hourly each day until they release them. They usually change part numbers several times before the actual release. The LTG, LGX, and LT1 just did a # change about 2 weeks ago.

Prices are fluctuating but from what I've seen price range online will be around $400-475
