I had been. Everything on the dealer's end had matched what Becky was telling me. The last update was that my car was 4B00. When I went in to the dealer a few days later, they said the car was scheduled to be there on 3/15 at the latest. I had the conquest offer and it was only a week or so out from when I did all the paperwork. After that, the car moved to "delivered to customer". Only the dealer could check. I sent email after email and everything pointed to 3/15. Then after it passed it was the "it's in transit and based on the build date of 2/26, should be here any day now."

I saw everyone else getting built after me in the group and compiled that to mean I was golden. Heck. Even your replacement car got here quickly. And you're a straight shot from Houston- 45 South. The transport company is in Spring, TX. Right on the rails and 20 seconds from I-45.

How do you get conquest rebate? Do you have to be coming from a non-GM car?

Yeah, I get it. It really sucks. I'm sure they'll get it to you soon. The original car I ordered back in September still hasn't made it to that dealership. It's shown "in transit" since mid November.

How do they lose a car?! Hopefully they are aware of this crap.

I got it... came a WEEK early. Was not prepared!!!

Sooooo excited. QQ: Anyone know if you can force it to shift in manual mode? I was in terrible traffic but bumping the throttle pretty significantly seemed to not do a lot unless I engaged the paddles. Someone once posted on this forum a while back that it will force you into the next gear. I could just not have had enough room to get up to speed(also couldnt see what gear I was in, just wanted to get home before messing with HUD) or whatever but it felt weird.

There is a rail autorack shortage.

That is a fact.

The problem is rail companies discarded obsolete autoracks during the great recession aggravated by the unexpected resurgence of the US auto industry.

The above has been extensively discussed in this forum.

Your dealer may now have learned to go past the in transit tab to the particular build order event history. Odds are until you cae along your dealer did not even know that existed.

Also, other than stopping transporting for a quality issue GM has no influence over delivery once the build has been turned over to dispatch.

I wasn't aware. But that would be my fault for not asking.

It seems rather odd that other 2/29 TPWs left for Texas, some going further south than Houston, and mine wouldn't get here.

So the "1 Priority", as I suspected, means nothing, right? And there is nothing that my dealer can do, no matter how they claim to be making calls, to get the car moving? Other than just waiting for it to get on a rail car sometime in the not so near future.

Dispatch decides what goes at their convenience and I do not know of any way it would know a customer order from a dealer stock order.

If Priority 1 is referring to the Work Bench print out, that has nothing to do with shipping.

What a dealer can do once a build reaches 4800 is contact the local dispatch regarding getting a customer order moved quickly and some members have posted their dealers did just that with good results.

Other than reading thousands of posts the only way you could know is the way you did and it is all good. Better to ask than to fume. Much better.

I refused to sign paperwork or do my trade until my car came it. I wanted to look it over and test drive it before being locked into anything.

I transferred my vanity plates over. I didn't know you could register a car that isn't in your possession yet. Interesting. Hope it all gets worked out for you soon!

It still seems odd to me too that I didn't head south with other Texas cars. Can they check and see if it's stuck in QC? That's the only thing I can think of. Are you back to checking with Becky.

What a crappy situation to be in. I'd be going crazy tracking that car down. You should definitely check with Becky as everyone else mentioned.

My dealership kinda wanted to do something similar to what you did to help me get the most on my Challenger I was trading in. If shipping/production became really delayed they were going to take my trade in and offered to put us in a car off the lot. I'm not sure I would have even done it that way. I wanted to inspect my car and drive it before being locked into it.

I hope you get some straight answers or explanations soon.

Crazy! Did the train get hijacked?

I'll check with her. I am indeed going crazy not knowing where my car is. And I mean "my car" as in I'm already paying for it lol

And as I suspected, it's at 6000. Only the dealer can look up anything. I emailed them yesterday and still no reply.

I've been car-less since the beginning of the month. At this point I just want to know if I'll need to pony up the cost of a rental car since no one knows how many more weeks until the car moves.
