Clear-protector on lower panels bubbling
My driver's side, lower panel in front of the rear wheel has now developed air pockets in multiple places on it and seems to be peeling. This is in the clear protector film that's over the paint.
Has anyone else seen this on theirs? |

This hasn't happened to mine yet but what is the purpose of them? I wish I didn't have it as dirt gets stuck around the edges and on top of it and it's hard to get off compared to the paint. Are rocks known to hit this area or something?

They're paint protectors for chips/sanding issues from various types of debris, etc. I don't know if rocks are known for that area since it's still early ownership, but I guess it's possible.

wait, they actually put factory clear bra on now where the side gills used to be? guess they got tired of all the complaints. Also, that saves me a few bucks as I was planning on doing that when I clear bra'd my front bumper.

It's not on the gill area, its the lower rockers. This what my driver's side looks like. Passenger is ok for now. Last edited by HumanWiki; 03-23-2016 at 12:23 PM. |

Take it in, that's covered under bumper to bumper.

Yeah, I'm going to. I just was curious if others have seen it and to point it out so others can look out for it.

I actually ignored them while cleaning up my car, because from a distance, they just looked like soap bubbles I'd missed from the door seam.. I was a sad panda when I realized it was air.. I was able to press one of them out, at the rear seam in front of the tire. No go for the others.
